    @pmclaine that's a great point. My concern about mounting it on the edge is will not be as secure but I guess that's unfounded. Did you do t tracks for your bench as well? If so, whats your experience been and do you have any recommendations on how to do things better?

    I was thinking the laminate as it's smooth and easier to clean. I was going to mount it on 3/8 or 1/2 plywood so stability will not be an issue. Is a clear varnish not a good idea?

    Truth right there. That's like running an F1 car and not putting on tires. You absolutely need a bullet feeder on a 1050 and I even use one on my 650 which I still manually crank.
