    Break in ammo question????

    I have a JP 556. I do not believe in barrel break in. I clean thoroughly after every range trip. Groups .25 - .5 if I don't mess anything up. I don't shoot junk ammo...ever.

    I agree with the Geissele comment above. Not a fan of throw levers on a precision rifle setup, and look for a mount with a recoil lug machined in. Buy once, cry once....get the Geissele.

    Don't think it was damaged. I watched the smith heat it up and remove it carefully. I did not put the original brake back on.....been wanting to see what a custom, cut rifled barrel would do with that rifle.

    My Bergara LRP was shooting around .5 moa. Took to a smith and removed the factory brake for an Area 419. My crown was nasty as it was difficult to clean with the brake installed. Using the Area 419 brake, my groups opened up some....to about .75 moa. Not happy about that. Removed a few times...

    Took delivery of my JP upper last summer. 20" barrel, thermal dissapator, .223 Wylde chamber. It's on a LMT lower with Luth AR stock and Geissele single stage trigger that feels like 2.5 lbs. I have the regular JP BCG and did not get the Silent Capture spring system. Scope is a Cronus BTR 4.5-29...

    New Athlon spotter with reticle

    Hope it's executed better than the Bushnell. I've read reviews fraught with disappointment. I do like the 2 Cronus BTR's that I currently own and will probably pick up an Ares ETR in the summer. I'll also recommend AthlopOpticsGuy here on the Hide for anyone thinking about trying Athlon.

    good holster for M&p shield

    I have a Blade Tech Klipt IWB appendix carry that is surprisingly more comfortable than the INCOG. I wear it for 13 hours plus with hardly a notice at all. It's 1/3 the cost of the INCOG too.

    If your 36x Sightron can do it....no question the Ares will do it better. My range only has steel past 250 yards. 5.56 on light colored paper at 250 yards....very easily seen.
