    Prone- Slung and Biopod

This is just a habit of mine due to what is required of the CG for shooting rifle but when doing our basic rifle qual course, doing prone, sitting and standing we have to use either the sling loop or parade sling methods. We dont get the fancy slings for our m16 for this either, just the issued...

    Ifak

+1 for the NAR kits, we use their IFAKs at my USCG unit. The kit contents of what we deploy with is as follows: HALO chest seal, 2 petrolium gauze pads, 2 pairs nitrile gloves, 1 roll med tape, 2 nasopharyngeal airway tube kits, 1 6" pressure dressing, 1 z folded gauze roll, 1 quick clot...

    Chassis's ???

I just got a gen 2 Whiskey 3 chassis for my Tikka and love it. Other than the folding stock option the other reason I went with the KRG is that there is nothing over the top of the barrel like the XLR so you can get the scope closer to the bore.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns Sub $600 1911

+1 for the Range Officer for best bang for the buck. Also for whatever it's worth, I picked up a GI style Auto Ordinance a few month ago and what little ammo I had to spare to break it in it's probably the best value for a GI style fullsize pistol I've ever bought. I also have an imported...

Is this a bad move? Tikka Remmy?

Keep the tikka and look at the kinetic research group whiskey 3 chassis. They were backlogged on the gen three but they had a blem gen 2 that i just put on my scout .308 and love it. Folding stock, adjustable cheek and length of pull and they use the aics mags. Keep the Tikka!

Rifle Scopes Anyone have issues with TPS Rings?

I had them on my 700 .300 rum rifle and they held up just fine. No ring marks left on the tube.

Sidearms & Scatterguns IWB holster recommendations

I personally prefer Bladetech IWB holsters. They have a good selection of kydex for not too much money. It also helps they are a local company to me but either way their customer service is fantastic in my opinion.

tikka t3 action vs rem 700???

I love my Tikka T3 Scout, the action feels so much better than a 700 especially the bolt throw and I'm a huge fan of how simple the trigger is mechanically and how it feels to shoot.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Kids First Pistol

+ 1 to the M&P .22. With a full size pistol, it's something that they can grow into and any adult can use as a training tool as well. They are made by Carl Walther if that makes any difference but they use the same threaded barrel adapter as the p22 if you wanted to dive into a .22 can (if you...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Shooting a handgun with one hand

Genin: The sight you are talking about is the Claw Emergency Manipulation Sight. From their catalog: Rob Pincus, with cooperation by AmeriGlo, presents the Claw EMS rear sight. A Black Nitride coated rear sight, featuring a .180" squared notch and an aggressive concave leading edge. This rear...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Shooting a handgun with one hand

It seems doing the one handed weapon manipulation with both strong and reaction side is becoming more and more prevalant, especially with sight manufactures jumping on board with rear sights with sharp, square edges to ease one handed slide release. It's a great skill to be proficient in.

What did you use to paint your rifle?

I am a big fan of the ultra flat Krylon camo by itself. Reason I use this is that it can be easily removed if you need to adapt a pattern for different areas and the lack of sheen on the finished product is a big +1 in my book.
