    My goals for this project are 2650 with a 165gr Accubond and 2550 with a 180. This is going to be stickily a hunting setup. I will let everyone know how it works out. I plan on sending it to Longrifles inc for cutting an treading.

    Wow 400fps seems like a lot! The boss rifles had a short barrel to start with. 21.5ish without the boss. I don’t have a purpose for the rifle now so I don’t really see a reason not to. I’m hoping for better than the 2500fps I was seeing out of a 16” 308 out of a 18” 30/06. Seems doable?

    Yes. They look great! But on a rifle like this 270 I will probably spend most of my time on the reticle not the turrets and this is 3oz lighter than the LHT. I’m probably going to put a LHT on my Tikka 300 and Win 30/06 suppressor host.

    Rifle Scopes Mounting a rifle scope...do you set the scope and rings back on the rail or do you set it far forward?

    I force everything forward under tension with my thumb while torquing. This goes for the bases as well; especially on a base with a recoil lug like a tikka.

    I have a BC on both my hunting Tikkas. I really like the feel of them. If I was going for more of the long range set up I would look at the KRG bravo.

    Off-season scope upgrade on the light hunting rifle. It’s a shame vortex discontinued the scopes. A lightweight capped scope with a usable reticle and razor glass is pretty nice.
