    I am going to keep my RDS for another gun, but I'm going to go with an LPVO. It seems like there are too many advantages not to.

    If you're just using it for hog hunting, you may be best off picking up a PSA. It will be cheap enough that you won't care if it gets dinged up, and it will be accurate enough to harvest hogs. There's really no need for a high dollar precision rig for your intended use.

    I hunt with my gasser, but definitely don't backpack with it. It's a 15 pound rifle, so not the best for that type of hunt.

    I love my Leica. One of the primary things you have to consider with LRFs is beam divergence. Many focus on quality of glass, which is important too I suppose, but IMO beam divergence is more important.

    I just a cheap level to level the rifle and I level the retile of the scope with a plumb-bob. That's just what I do for mounting a scope, but it would be nice to have a good quality picatinny mount level to keep on the gun.

    It's not for defense. My truck gun will have the Aimpoint on it and will always be on. The gun it will be going on is a 16" 5.56 that I will use for a variety of things. I was just trying to get an idea of what to expect with an LPVO.

    As far as "what rifle", it varies. The Armyhas used longer barreled M-16's designed for that role, to the M-110.

    Dmrs are typically semi-auto rifles designed to engage targets outside of the range of service rifles, but not quite out to the range of sniper rifles, even though some a capale of the same range.

    I've never used one, but I'm feeling like I definitely need to pick one up. I've used plenty of PVS-14's. I know these are designed to use with a high power scope, but how do they work with a red dot?

    I'm guessing I wouldn't be able to mount a PVS-14 behind an LPVO like I would a red dot. I may just have to pick up a PVS-30.

    I've looked at the Trijicon as well. I'm weighing it against the Vortex.

    I would probably just put the red dot on my truck gun, and put the LPVO on my AR as sort of a "do everything" gun. I was thinking hunting, target shooting, etc. I definitely would want a true 1x on the lower setting, as well as good quality glass.

    I was wondering about the weight too. I know the Razors are typically heavy, so I figured a 1-6 would be heavier than and Aimpoint. I also noticed the Razor has brightness adjustment. Are the lower settings compatible with night vision?
