    I've had a lot of luck with the Gen 2 Razor. I think I'm going to pick up another since the price dropped. Yes, it is heavy, but it is a solid performer. You can also use it for a club, if necessary.

    I don't have a Razor, but I have a Viper PST you can look through if you ever make it up to Apple Creek range. I know they're completely different scopes, but it may give you a general idea of Vortex products.

    No, the fireplace is not usable, it was filled in. According to the tour guide, a personal friend of Dick, you lose more heat from a fireplace than you gain, so he filled it in and put the stove in. The claw marks above the door were from a bear.
