    I was just out looking at deer in velvet with my new S&B 10x42 and my Leupold FX3 6x42. No contest the Leupold would give you at the very least 5 more minutes of shooting light. And it saves HALF POUND of weight. Check them out for a lightweight hunting scope.

    Since your car is going to be carrying it I would look a the 12.3 inch barrel. Should give you more velocity and still come under the 26" overall length for a AR pistol. Carbine gas. Aero is good to go so is their barrel co. BA. What sights are you going to use?

    I have a Les Baer NRA match rifle. 30 inch barrel that is back bored 6 inches. So 24 inches of rifling and a 6 inch tube. It's super quiet compared to my other ARs. Still not safe without muffs but a really nice pleasant "booooom" compared to the blast by the shorties.
