Cz 455 Lilja McMillan M40A1 build!!!

For an all out accuracy build the 40x is a better action. The cz has its benefits like you mentioned plus it won't cost you an arm and a leg to rebarrel. A Lilja can be had for $365-$420 with shipping but now Feddersen has entered the game which will make it cost half that! I got 5 of the...

Cz 455 Lilja McMillan M40A1 build!!!

No doubt about it the 40x is a superior action. The real benefit of using the 455 is the cost to performance.

Cz 455 Lilja McMillan M40A1 build!!!

Cost the owner I believe around $500 and 6 months of waiting. I've done many using the manners stock and I must say the McMillan is nicer. The Inlet was better and was near perfect! Almost no movement forwards and backwards and just 1/16" of movement on the sides. Inlet was near perfectly level...

Cz 455 Lilja McMillan M40A1 build!!!

It's been awhile since I've seen a 504 shoot but I'm pretty sure the 455 lilja setup with full bedding ect will out shoot it. If the remmy doesn't shoot .3's or better at 50 yards move it along and do the cz cause it will :).

Cz 455 Lilja McMillan M40A1 build!!!

The lilja barrels are offered in 2 tapers for the 455. One is the straight .900" no taper barrel and the other is the varmint taper which is .900" for the first 3" with a straight taper to .630" at the muzzle. For bench only work the straight .900" is a great choice but if you will be hunting...

Cz 455 Lilja McMillan M40A1 build!!!

This was a fun build and is the first time I got the chance to bed a McMillan stock for a 455. Here is what is done to it with pics. McMillan CZ M40A22 (variation of the M40A1) , pillar bedded and full length glass bedded with epoxy edges colored to match the stock. Bolt body...

Just purchased an Anschutz 64 MPR

With the 455 it is possible to get stellar accuracy from the factory barrel. All one needs to do is slug the barrel to be sure the muzzle end is tighter than the rest. If not barrel must be cut to the tightest spot but within reason not to go to short. If the tightest spot is to far back, then...

    The new 17 WSM

The hmr can be effective but you can't use the vmax rounds as they are little hand grenades. They will just fragment on impact on anything with some meat on em. The 20gr xtp or game points is what you have to try out on some yotes.

what do you use to kill tree rats

Air rifles with 12 ft lbs will kill tree rats no problem lol. I've used 22 LR using eley match, center x, wolf, basically anything that the gun liked most. I now use a hmr but stick with head shots.

New CZ455 Varmint .22lr today!!! But I screwed up...

Nothing wrong with experimenting and is the perfect way to find out what works and what doesn't.

New CZ455 Varmint .22lr today!!! But I screwed up...

Skim bedding can improve accuracy sometimes but not like a full bedding job :)! I'd put pillars in the stock and level off the inlet removing 1/16" to 1/8" of material. I'd bed the entire length of the stock and see what it can do then, I bet it will surprise you :)...

    Yep it's the ammo :)

    CZ 455 Varmint (Tacticool)

When you removed the unfired round, was the bullet engraved by the rifling? Some cci ammunition is known for having the driving band more forward than others which will makes them engage the rifling. Have you tried other ammo as I'm pretty sure your problem would go away.

CZ 455 Varmint or CZ 455 Precision Trainer

I've used mscott many times and he is like lightning! His work is also exceptional! 3 months is a mighty long time to wait for a bolt handle!!!!

CZ 455 Varmint or CZ 455 Precision Trainer

The manners stock is comfortable, super rigid, and made to last forever! The ones I've done are never inletted perfectly but then again which stock is. The factory front pillar is a joke and IMO they shouldn't even install it. If money isn't an issue the manners is worth it. For those who are...
