    In the late 1980s I did a project at McD in StL. At the time they were building 15s, AV8Bs and 18s. The McD engineer I was working with said the same thing… his version was that “John McDonnell proved you could make a brick fly with big enough engines “.

    They hand out bronze stars w/o the V for exemplary Achievement or Merit. Looking at her pictures online I don’t see a V on the ribbon.

    I have been standing in the parking lot of the security bldg at Barksdale, it’s across the road at the end of the runway, when a B-52 came over my head and did a touch and go. Loudest sustained noise I’ve ever heard.

    I’m familiar with firing that one across the bow for the French, but I don’t think it works for Canadians, even Quebecoise.

    The head/face is chopped into that pic in my non-professional opinion. (bend in the molding on the right, different color saturation on the face and the boundary between the hair and the arm on the left. )

    I appreciate the DW quotes, but pls attribute them correctly. The first quote is from 1845, and considering that he was born in 1782 I doubt that the second was made when he was 9 yrs old.

    Looks more like a bearing froze up. It didn’t set fire to the car so I doubt FRA ever got involved. I’d be interested to see the other side of the truck.
