    The 30-30 recoil is sharp and more uncomfortable than even my 300 mag. I recently bought a Marlin 45-70, it came with a nice recoil pad and is comfortable to shoot. Add a limbsaver or comparable will help a lot. With a scope my Marlin 30-30 is a 1moa, most shoot very well.

    Yea, the Lee Perfect gets within a couple tenths so trickling onto a tuned beam scale takes less time. The beam is so accurate I cannot justify moving to a high end digital system.

    While you can certainly get a stock lighter than the Choate, I don't think you will get one "better" that is of similar design. I say that as I own several and a Manners T4A. Chassis style is a different story, tried it but not for me.
