25x47 is what I went to. Love it.

Depends on how fire cracked it is. Last one I did, we re measured seating and added .3 on powder to get it back on speed. Got another 600 then pulled. It was still shooting. I just did not want it to die during a shoot.

Official Area419 ZERO Press - All Things ZERO

I decap in my sizing process. I think decapping is a wasted step. Less time in load room = more time on range. I use the modular shell holders from area 419 too.

    6gt

    Wife's 6gt. 37.1 N555. 109 Berger .040 off. I'll take it. Running this at distance tomorrow.

    VV powders & temp stability

N555 is very easy on barrels compared to the other 5 series powders. It is the coolest burning powder I have run.

    25x47 Lapua load data

I decided to try the N555 in the 25x47. Amazing results. 135 Berger at .045 off lands shot best. 40.8 of N555 ran at 2812 with super low SDs. Last 10 shots were 2811.6 and SD of 1.6. I wish I could have run them all together but the Garmin does not let me continue a string. We turn it off...

    VV powders & temp stability

Not my experience. I got an 8lb jug of N160 dated from the 90s, it still shoots good. Stored in original container indoors. I run a lot of N555 too, one of my favorite powders. Very stable and versatile.

    25x47 Lapua load data

Recoil impulse. You either had to live with running slow in the gt or at upper end which has a very sharp recoil impulse. The 25x47 is running about 1.5 grains off max with easy recoil impulse at 2775.

    25x47 Lapua load data

This barrel started life as a 25gt. 900 rounds in I just was not satisfied. I had my barrel Smith rechamber it as 25x47 with .150 freebore. Running 135 berger at .035 off lands. Barrel is 26" Schilen select match 7 twist. Went straight to testing. First shot is marked out of groups...

    6.5 Creedmoor

I would think N150 is too fast burning for a 153. This is from the VV site:

    Overcooked Brass (Annealing question)

This part (red arrow) of the flame should be touching the neck shoulder portion of the brass. That is the hotter flame.

Why do people load so hot?

    Not what he said.

Autotricklet V4 mechanical reliability and customer service?

@PatMiles What is your drop time? The original V4 without any upgrades ran 12 to 15 second drops without issue fir me. I have a bunch of not yet releaeed MK upgrades and get 8 to 10 second drops now with my V4. I can run it faster but it starts overthrowing a lot. Curious what the V4 does...

Autotricklet V4 mechanical reliability and customer service?

And another example of a V4 not set up properly. Push the transition out, it works just fine. I just ran 150 rounds on mine with 6 over throws. V4 runs great if you set it up right.

Autotricklet V4 mechanical reliability and customer service?

My V4 has never gone down. I have had it since their release. Adam has been responsive to emails in the past. It is accurate if you follow instructions and do not try to run 6 second throws.

Emotional roller coaster: 6 powder droppers in < 3 years!

Yup, lots of happy V4 users out there. I get 8-10 second drops. Last run of 150 rounds of N555 had 6 overthrows.

I did not even notice that 1st time. Made me go check my barrel spec... it's a .219 and 7.5 twist. I have not had any issues so far, 500 on this barrel so far. I clean every 150 max. My 1st barrel was a 7 twist, it had issues. I run 90 smks at 3170 with 37.5 of N555 on this barrel.

What are you using to clean? Routine? I had a similar situation years ago. I thought I was getting the carbon ring out, but I was just polishing it so it looked shiny like metal. 3 or 4 shots and right back into pressure. If I have tough carbon, I use this. It destroys carbon, even better...
