Between those three, I'd pick the Burris or Steiner. I'm predominantly a NF guy but not the SHV line. The two scopes I like best for "DMR" are the ATACR 4-16x and the Razor Gen3 1-10x (only because the illuminated dot and translucency best out the ATACR 1-8x reticle) but the NX8 2.5-20 is pretty...
I don't ever remember seeing 5.56 turrets for a M3 Ultra. I've got a bag of them tho I'll go find in a bit and double check. Those pre-dated Mk262 and I never saw a Mk12 issued with one.
Is the full length rail going to be like the stubby one and not wrap and the bottom metal on a long action, thus making the unsightly gap, or are you going to offer one for the long action that makes it look finished?
The only mount that I know of that meets your criteria are the NF and Geissele (my current mount) service rifle mounts but lots of SR shooters use a cantilever riser with low rings (which is what I started with). Except for my SR, I can't really see why I would need a scope that low or that far...
I've used the Aero M4E1 for service rifle and it's a great upper receiver but handguards like the Spiker don't fit the receiver extension really tight. For a practical match gun, I love the flat bottom forearm. A Seekins upper and handguard fit like a glove. Their uppers and lowers lock up like...
As a kid in the 90s, and to this day, the Miller scope mount was the coolest thing I'd ever seen since it is machined to for the turret housing. They were, and always will be, out of my budget but they are cool as hell.
The only BA I have is a Hanson and it'll pretty reliably shoot 5-shot groups right under an inch at 100yds. My better barrels will do .5-.75" at the same distance.
Yeah, you can push the 140gn up around 3050fps in a 22" barrel. My 280 Imp 40° (circa 1999) shot 140gn bullets around 3150fps from a 24" Lilja #4 barrel. I would assume you can get another 50-100fps in the 7-08 Imp by adding 4" of barrel but 100fps isn't really a meaningful gain. I think of...
