    I play with the operating system to make sure it runs reliably and is accurate/precise. Weight is to make sure it handles the way you want during offhand IMO. I shoot a barrel that is heavy under the handguard but don't use weights and use a weight in the butt of the UBR Gen1.

    Truth. Any good barrel will be ported properly to run with minimal tuning. Mine shoots best with a Tubb spring and H2 buffer but it's fine with nearly any reasonable combo.

    I agree that a Mark 5 isn't in the same league as the others but it's more than enough for "DMR" work and it's appropriately sized for a small frame or a 14-16" big frame (I use it on 22-24" gassers also).

    Nightforce question

    I've had every NF 2.5-10x variant and the 32mm and 42mm are both really good for mid range work. They aren't perfect, but they are good. I'm still torn between buying another NX8 4-32x (the better of the two) and a NXS 2.5-10x42mm for a gun.
