    The Armalite bolt has a smaller fp and should fix your problem. Also there is a chart somewhere of the different cup thicknesses of different primers. I think the cci military has a thicker cup and may be less likely to blow out.

    Seems like I remember the ar-10 saum barrel extension having different feed ramps. Anybody know if a regular extension works? Also I think the AR-10 has a smaller firing pin hole than the dpms. Is there any problems with the dpms pin size for the saum application?

    Ruger American compact is 6 pounds. They make one in .243 and they are quite impressive. It takes weaver 46 bases so there are many to choose from.

    Ok keep us posted. I just ordered the white oak 17.17 inch gas tube and a .875 gas block. Its going on a bartlein 5r Remington varmint contour and think I will finish it at 26 or 28 inches undecided for now. Also plan on doing the 60 degree chamfer for reliable feeding.

    White oak armament offers a 17.17 inch gas tube (standard is 15-1/8 inch) that I was thinking of using for a 6.5 creedmoor build with a 26 or 28 inch barrel. Has anyone had experience with the longer tube or should I just use the standard with adjustable gas block? Thanks.

    Thanks guys. I was thinking just under .080 for starters. It is a rifle length gas system and a 25 inch barrel. I have an adjustable gas block as well for fine tuning. I will post the results and range report soon. Thanks again just needed to hear it from others.

    I posted this in the gunsmithing section several days ago but have had no hits yet. I am just about done with my 6.5cm barrel except for final reaming of the gas port. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good size to start with? If not then I will start small and keep yall posted. Thanks.
