    You don't need a "fancy custom rifle" to put a new barrel on it, as the OP stated he wants to do. And 4140 steel may make a fabulous rifle barrel but it's not more fabulous than a good SS barrel. "Most" shooters can eliminate this problem with a good barrel.

    Only if you have a shitty carbon steel barrel. But you'll find when you get a custom stainless barrel like 99% of the custom barrel makers make you wont have to worry about it.

    I don't believe that Graham implied a brake isn't needed, I read his post as saying that if you don't have solid fundamentals, nothing will help make you more accurate. I agree with that for the most part.
