    You just said it. I shot 6.5 CM for a couple years in PRS and like you said it was always good enough, so I stopped chasing the nodes. Spent way to much time and coin chasing the “SD/ES” or “velocity”.

    Inherently those are accurate rounds. I would argue, yes, they would be consistent enough to compete.

    I think it’s more about efficiency. Like OCW is really about getting the best performance out of a round, right? The way I understand is those nodes are just were everything is the most efficient and everything is working together.

    Rifle Scopes 6.5 grendel

    I wanted a lighter gas gun instead of carrying around a 308 gasser. So I built my 6.5 grendel and also opted to run a strike eagle 1-8. Shot it out to 600 and very happy with the results. But honestly all my kills have been under 100. Kinda built mine for a specific purpose, just my experience.

    OK, maybe shouldn’t have said very affordable. I think you’re right about $500, and you don’t see to many for sale second hand. But in perspective, spending $400+ for Spuhr mounts for my rifle scopes $500 doesn’t seem like much. These were just my quick thoughts, all debatable.

    That exactly why I got mine. I was tired of humping around my 308 AR10 which was just to much, plus had to much scope on it. I threw on a 1-6 Vortex Strike Eagle on my grendel and shot it out to 600. It was good for what I wanted it for, Knowing most of my hunting shots will be 300 an in.

    From my reading Anythjng in the 120-123 range is ideal. That’s not to say others won’t work. What are you shooting? Target? Hunting? Competition? I’d give the ELDMs a look. They shot very well out of my 18” centurion barrel. I’ll look up my load specs for you. But was using CFE223 and AR Comp.

    I just started shooting the 6.5 Grendel this year. I also was looking for the SSTs originally. It seemed like the go to for hunting. Well couldn’t find any either, so ended up getting some 123 ELD-Ms instead. Higher BC so better ballistics. I’ve killed two deer this year with it, one at 40yds...
