    6.5 Creedmoor Brass Forming

Here ya go. Don't forget to anneal before you start working those necks and shoulders. Use plenty of lube.

Expanding case necks/getting out dings - the hard way

Dammit, you're right, I got mixed up. It's a body die and a neck sizing die.

Expanding case necks/getting out dings - the hard way

Ok, some of you apparently can not grasp this very simple concept: "Redding Competition dies do not come with an expander." Just saying "use the expander" does not magically make an expander appear. Thank you for the useful input!

How about a WTF "Savage arms" call out!!!! Advice needed please

From a management perspective, you're probably low on the totem pole. Think about it, everything is fine on your end, any problem that exists is on their end. Do you see why Paul might be busy taking care of more important issues than a customer who just wants reassurance, but doesn't require...

    Mushrooms, ya gettin any?

I've seen mushroom kits for sales, basically wooden dowels that have been coated in spores. You're supposed to drill into a log, stick in the dowels, cover in wax or something, and wait a few years. Anyone ever tried something along these lines? I've been thinking about doing this with a few...

Picatinny rail to replace sling stud

Aside from Accu-shot, who else makes a picatinny rail to replace the sling studs on a rifle?

I wanna start reloading. Any tips??

The Lee reloading manual has a good intro section, and the sticky threads at the top of this section of the forum are good reads too. Take some time, make a list of all the things you'll need, and then add to it. A decent set of digital calipers will be a big help, as will the Hornady...

Who / Which method of using stainless steel tumbling media is best?

Vibratory tumbler would take a LOT more pins, in fact you'd probably just burn out the motor. The rotary tumbler you use between 2 - 4 pounds of pins, hell dump in the 5lb bag if you want, but I keep that last pound back for replacement because you end up losing a pin or two on occasion. It...

What is the best rimfire scope

I was going for the BSA 4-14, but the Primary Arms 4-14 popped up for $70 less as a display model, and ya can't beat that.

What is the best rimfire scope

What's an acceptable rimfire scope? FFP, MIL/MIL, cheaper is better, but not a POS. Something to stick on a CZ455 trainer for punching paper at 25-100yds. To answer my own question: Either a Primary Arms or BSA 4-14x44mm. Sub-$200 if you shop around, and good reviews so far. Now to pick out rings.

Expanding case necks/getting out dings - the hard way

Good call, thanks. That'll be part of my neck turning setup anyways. You've missed the point here. The Redding Competition set includes a FL die, but it only has a decapping stem, there is no neck expander on the stem like most dies.

Expanding case necks/getting out dings - the hard way

I got some Hornady 6.5 Creedmoor brass on the cheap, with the caveat that they were once fired, some dinged up, and some of them had erroneously been run into a 6 Creedmoor die and necked down. I figured I'd just anneal the necks on the necked down cases and expand them... Until I pulled out...

Who / Which method of using stainless steel tumbling media is best?

This. It's not a science, just add some soap, some Lemishine, and tumble until you get around to having time to unload it. Boom, done. No special formula or recipe required. I use a Frankford Arsenal Media Separator to shake the brass around over a 5 gallon bucket and let the pins fall out. I...

whats a good press for newbr?

Lee Classic Cast Breech Lock Single Stage Press I got this to start with last year, and I've been very happy. Got it on sale for a little under what it's priced at now, and I chucked out the Lee Breech Lock adapter and screwed in a Hornady Lock-n-Load adapter (both the Hornady and Lee...

    40X vs 541T vs Model 82 Gov

A match rifle seemed like a good idea, but finding that Goldilocks sweet spot of everything being just right, price and configuration, hasn't happened yet. I'm going to check out an estate auction in the morning, they have a few Anschultz .22s up for sale, along with a bunch of other stuff. I'll...

    40X vs 541T vs Model 82 Gov

I saw an 82G on Armslist that was listed as magazine fed, good thing I didn't jump on that one then. I'll take a look at the Mod 52 as well.

    40X vs 541T vs Model 82 Gov

I'm up in Madison, might just take you up on the offer at the range. The 40X having a 700 footprint is a bonus, though not necessarily a requirement for my decision. I like that the 541 and Kimber are repeaters, but the larger support base for the 40X is making me lean toward paying the...
