    Gunsmithing X-Mark Pro trigger inconsistancies?

Re: X-Mark Pro trigger inconsistancies? When you adjust the X Mark Pro as low as they will go they somtimes vary by as much as a full pound pull to pull. I laugh my ass off every time a new Rem comes in the shop with tag still on it telling how great that new piece of shit trigger is. I have...

    Whitworth??

Re: Whitworth?? It's an Enfield. That action is big enough to build up to and beyond a 505 Gibbs. Still cock on close? There are cock on open kits {gunsmith required} if you want to convert it. Good strong actions for big bore projects.

    killed my mojo

Re: killed my mojo Time for a new gunsmith. If he can't build a decent Remington I would'nt let him work on anything. A well built 700 can hold it's own in a tactical rifle.

Re: Jewell vs. Shilen Triggers Another vote for Jewell. A bounus with Jewell is all the adjustments can be done without taking the action out of the stock.

1/2 moa guarantee from the factory ?

Re: 1/2 moa guarantee from the factory ? If you want a .5" guarantee you pretty much need a custom rifle built. The problem with a .5" guarantee on a rifle is that a lot of shooters don't have a .5" guarantee built into them.....

    X-Mark Pro & J-lock

Re: X-Mark Pro & J-lock Yes, there are two versions of the X trigger. The one with the bottom adjustment is just a home owner adjustable version. It still has the real adjustment in the front of the trigger box. Any weight reduction you get from the bottom screw is minimal. I'm not sure...

    270 WSM

Re: 270 WSM The lack of good bullets in 270 limit it. The 7mm WSM is a great choice, and a well known long range accuracy cartridge.

Gunsmithing convert 308 to 300 wsm?

Re: convert 308 to 300 wsm? I don't know about a Templar but on a 700 you have to open the bolt face, install a Sako extractor, open the feed rails, and clearance the inside of the rear ring for ejection. Most of the time your better off buying the correct action.

    Gunsmithing Tapping a muzzle break

Re: Tapping a muzzle break I've made hundreds of muzzle brakes and I dial them in to under .001" before single point threading them. Your exit bore would probably have to be so big to prevent strikes that it would'nt work all that great.
