I'll play! I just got a bravo chassis, spigot, mags, nf pic rail, pug ear bag, area 419 arca clamp and a tbac! Next is some better glass, having some focusing probs. I have one crappy pic let me try to post....
I have a Barnes lrx load already worked out for my 270! I have the dies, guage, powders etc. for it too. Been using my buddy's set up to load for it for a while. Just never could justify spending all that until just recently. Hopefully I can start gathering stuff soon.
Yeah I definately think it's better spending the money on reloading instead of jumping to another caliber just to shoot factory ammo and still remain at the mercy of the legislation and or market here. My plan as of now is to get really dialed inside 1k instead of flinging lead til I get a hit...
It's getting more and more difficult for sure. Especially for 308 match at least the couple places I look. Last couple of times I was checking ammo there were more options for 6.5. So much so that I even considered rebarreling but I should keep learning with the 308 for now I think?
Hey guys not sure if this is the best place but I figured I'd ask. I'm getting really low on my 308 ammo reserves and It's getting hard finding anything and when I do it's over $34 a box (hornady mostly). I just got back into precision and am being limited on ammo availability. Trying to talk...
God I wish would've had someone to take me out and show me stuff like that as a teenager! Hell at any age!! I try to do a few little "outside of the box" hidden targets when we shoot. As far as tracking practice I try to always take note of everything I can when I'm outdoors. This time a year...
I just use the cheap Howard Leight impact with a little added insulation. They're OK and they'll get you by until you find some fancy ones. The only inner ears I've used are elvex foamies from work!
My wife just found them on Instagram. They're on enterprise off howe Ave now, which is good because I'm close to that area. As for dealing with hide vendors, I can say that the guys at KRG have been great to me the past couple of days.
I work in EG and I completely forgot about CS tactical! Is he still in the back of MTG? Sac valley is nice but you have to be a member to shoot their 1000. I no longer give the NRA my money so I guess it's not an option for me... My rifle is almost ready but I need to find an arca clamp for my...
Yeah I'm in the same boat for the most part. I use the 2 national forests and blm. I try to get to Minden area in the spring before the heat too. I'm just getting back into precision and long range so I've been going out scouting for new spots while scouting for deer season. Do you know of any...
Does anyone from the Sacramento/nor cal area have any recommendations for stores, smiths and ranges (other than sac valley)? I know we are kind of a niche market for the shooting sports, but it would be nice to have shop I can go and put my hands on stuff. Not worried about spending a little...
I'm glad you asked this as I've been looking around for some new factory 308 for my 20" tikka. You said the 168 superformance wasn't your thing but did you try them at 1000 by chance? My gun loves em but I haven't tried them past 500 yet. Was curious if they suffered at 8-900 like the smk 168s...
Nostalgia is always cool! BUT so is getting a new rifle and setting it up exactly how you want without guilt of altering grandad's gun. Is budget a factor at all? If not, I'd say get a another tikka in whatever clambering you'd think you could use the most and you can practice with. That way...
