223 bolt gun for prairie dog hunt

Another Rem. 700 VSSF fan here, especially the .204 (if I could only have one prairie dog gun it would be my VSSF .204). I have VSSF's in .17 Fireball, .204 Ruger, .223 etc. I started with a Rem. 700 Police in .223, which really shoots just as well. I also shoot RRA AR Varmints in .204, .223 and...

    224 Valk Barrels?

Rock River has their complete .224 V uppers on sale right now (apparently they only did a short run on these, using Wilson barrels) They have 2 versions, a Long range version, 22", 1:6.5 twist and a Varmint version, 20", 1:7 twist. Typical RRA first rate quality construction. I got one of the LR...

    PWS 7.62x39 / most reliable x39 ammo?

My favorite round (& pretty inexpensive) for hogs is the Privi Partisan 123 gr. soft point. I have only used it out of a truck, at close range, with a RRA LAR-47, but the wounds are very impressive! Used with a supressor, even with properly adjusted gas block, it is pretty dirty and requires...

Cheek riser for a hunting stock

I have a few of the Beartooth cheek risers, as well. They are inexpensive, don't do any damage to your stock and have various height pads. They are a lot easier to apply when you remove the barreled action from the stock, although not entirely necessary, just fewer expletives!

    Movie Theater Old cowboy movies

The Gunsmoke series (another favorite and a particular favorite of my #5 Grandson). In the intro to the show, James Arness would blink when his gun fired after his quick draw. I pointed this out to my Grandson at about 3-4 years of age, and every time it would come on Riley would say "yup he...

    Movie Theater Old cowboy movies

The TV series "The Virginian" is a favorite at our house. One of my all time favorites is "The Quick and the Dead" with Sam Elliot (not the dufas Sharon Stone version!) "You have a fine looking woman there, McCaskill" (Kate Kapshaw)

(Found One) WTB: NXS 8-32 MOAR-T

I have 3 of these on prairie dog rifles, could part with one. I thought Singleshot had his priced appropriately. What are you considering "used prices"?

    CZ452 vs CZ455

DIP Products has rails, springs, etc for the 452, both 11mm and 3/8" dovetails. A little cheaper than EGW, although I get parts form both companies and enjoy their offerings.

No love for the .243 Win.?

Thanks for the good info/replies! I have all the components and equipment to reload and IIRC the barrel is a 1:8 twist, so just need to get busy and do some loading, I guess. Just easier to grab a 6.5 CR or the new Valkyrie build and go shoot. I will check out the Blackwater ammo.

No love for the .243 Win.?

I have been curious for a while as to why there are no ELD-type factory loads for the .243. I know the caliber has a reputation as a barrel burner when pushed, but the .243 is a very common deer cartridge (at least in the midwest), thus would be readily available for someone interested in trying...
