    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I think you could get one to a reasonable crossover between the sig (which isn't even available yet) and a full custom / aftermarket folding chassis. It was just a thought, and maybe isn't practical, but I think would be an interesting project. This platform is easy to work on, parts are...

    Ruger Precision Rifle Discussion

I think it's a viable alternative to the sig cross with a bit of modification. It has a folding stock already, and with a carbon barrel, light stock, and handguard swap I think it could get to a pretty handy weight. Probably not 6.5 lbs light, but I bet in the 7's.

Has anyone tried to considerably lighten one of these? What do they weigh with a proof carbon barrel? I'd guess around 8.5?

    277 Sig Fury

It sounds to me that any of these high pressure rounds should be treated as "magnum" rounds when choosing a suppressor. I wonder how well my SDN-6 would hold up to 80k psi. Pressure peaks and valleys aside, I'm not overly hopeful that it's going to be compatible.

Barrel: Loki Weapons Systems or Lothar Walther

Re: Barrel: Loki Weapons Systems or Lothar Walther I just did a build with a lothar walther and absolutely love it. That being said, I believe either choice is good quality. As others have said, White Oak makes good barrels as well, as does Wilson Combat and Noveske. Have you looked around...

22" or 24" Mid Weight for MaTen build?

Re: 22" or 24" Mid Weight for MaTen build? Two inches will squeeze a little more velocity, but not enough to fuss about in my opinion. Find a good deal on a quality barrel and go for it.

Best AR Platform for the $

Re: Best AR Platform for the $ There's a lot of good advice here. For your first setup in that price range, and for not really knowing exactly what you want, I don't think you'll be making a mistake with any of the mentioned brands. Get into something that will leave you money for some ammo...

    brake ideas for AAC-SD

Re: brake ideas for AAC-SD Their brakes are threaded... Some have the QD for their suppressors and some don't. While I like the design of their brakes, I can't see paying the price they charge if you're not using it for the QD purpose. If you're threading it off and on for your threaded...

Need advice buying Stag 6H *Ordered*

Re: Need advice buying Stag 6H I believe Magpul makes a limiter for their mags to only allow them to hold 10 rounds. I'd look into that as opposed to dedicated 10 round mags.

    308 BCG?

Re: 308 BCG? I got a heck of a deal on a used Y/M NM carrier and love it. I've read mixed reviews on whether or not it makes a difference. I don't have anything to compare it to, but I'll say this... It can't HURT anything. I'm sure a standard carrier has the potential to be just as accurate...
