    Re: 338 RUM in Savage - stock help (AICS mag) I had CDI make a bottom metal for a savage long action that used CIP mags. Machined the back of the mag well to 3.800". Feeds perfectly and you can stretch the coal to about 3.750". Just a thought. Jeff can set you up.

    Re: .338-378 Weatherby mag. A buddy has one that likes 104 gr of Retumbo and Fed 215's with both 300 gr SMK's and Berger Hybrids. Right at 3000 fps with ES at about 10 fps. His reamer was a "match" reamer with minimal free bore.

    Re: 7mm rem mag and 180 VLD? I have never understood how people can get 3K out of a 7 RM. The best I have been able to do in three seperate guns is about 2900. Two with 26" barrel and one with a 27" barrel. Frustrates me because I'd love to push that bullet at that speed.
