    Army M24 Build Thread

Thanks for the comments. I would submit it again; they always respond even if they find no results. Earlier this year they requested that people use the form in the link to submit FOIA requests. It's not required, but it has worked well for those using it...

    Army M24 Build Thread

Have you run an Army FOIA request on your receiver serial number? All of the US marked M24 serial numbers that I have run have come back with good information. I think that would be the best and quickest way to confirm. I don't remember the CMP selling or auctioning any M24 rifles or receivers...

    Army M24 Build Thread

C prefix M24 receivers were U.S. marked, as well as a few E prefix receivers. After that the use of US markings was ended. Later M24 receivers including G prefix and RR prefix were not U.S. marked.

    Army M24 Build Thread

Update 12/12/24: Good news! A few hours ago I got an email reply from the owner of Bryant Ridge Co. thanking me for the heads up. He had already been in contact with Gunbroker asking them to take the auctions down. These receivers were consigned. He asked me for some further specifics so he can...

Heads up on Fake M24 Receivers

I posted on the M24 thread in the bolt action section but wanted to post a warning here too. https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/army-m24-build-thread.6252616/page-41#post-11901567 These appear to be the same PTG fakes that we discussed last year. Unfortunately they are being sold a...

Heads up that there are more fake M24 receivers on Gunbroker, listed by Bryant Ridge Co.: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1078465694 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1078401541 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1078398111 https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1078401589 Two of them have already sold for...

Differences between the Mark 4 Leupold M3 and the Vari-X III M3?

The 308M turrets are graduated in meters and the 308 WIN 168gr are in yards. The Vari-X III 3.5-10x40mm Long Range was produced up to about 2003 and then the Mark 4 LR/T started about 2004. As far as I can tell they are the same otherwise.

USMC Unertl locking in the parallax on the objective

Good job, you'll get there! I like to adjust the ocular focus by focusing on a white piece of paper. A white page on the computer works well too. There is just less visual clutter and interference that way. For the parallax, the best is to have a clear view of objects at known distances. Like...

USMC Unertl locking in the parallax on the objective

Frank: I have a scanned pdf of the Operator's Manual from 2003 that I can email if you want a copy. Just send me a message with your email and I'll send it. Same to anyone else who wants a copy. I think the messages above should have you squared away. Just remember when trying to adjust the...

Found a 1903 Springfield with a massive barrel

I'll also add that I would recommend checking the chamber since most of these sold with 22" barrels were in 7.62x51. It could have been rechambered, but I would want to verify.

Found a 1903 Springfield with a massive barrel

That is definitely a Mann Accuracy Device that has been put into a full stock. The sleeve that clamps into the fixture has been turned down and the barrel has had a recessed crown added. In my opinion it has a lot less value than it did as a Mann Accuracy Device...

    m24 back in stock

Yep, when I first saw this I used the old "load up your cart" trick and it looked like there were only 4 at that time. Good deals for anyone who didn't have a real M24.

    m24 back in stock

Interesting. Were these actually made at the Remington Defense Facility in Ilion NY like the link says?

    Looking for M24 receiver C6349190

That one has an interesting history too. It has been all over the world and back more than once and is the only one I've seen documented to "Bagram Air Base (BAF) - Operation Resolute Support, Bagram, Afghanistan".

    MST100 Interest?

I remember when those sold on the CMP auction as a consecutive pair. Beautiful scopes with the USO modifications.

    Eagle industries hsrc??

About 5 years ago a lot of well used Eagle Industires HSRC's showed up on the auction sites. I bought one that was really salty. It had debris all over it and even had a pair of pruning shears in one of the pockets. After a few days I noticed it stunk bad, so I finally had to take it out and...

    Eagle industries hsrc??

I like the Eagle Industries HSRC's too. They don't seem to turn up that often. I have had a couple green ones that I associate more with the M24, along with the other Eagle Industries green items issued with the M24. The tan ones I associate more with the M110. I have seen khaki and coyote...

    Fake Vintage Parts

Those will fit right in with their line of fake "U.S. sniper" parts... I would not believe anything they claim. https://www.snipershide.com/shooting/threads/army-m24-build-thread.6252616/post-11176343
