    This new rifle is the first one I have had and I love it. When I ordered the Xtreme Hunter with the Tempest they specifically asked if I wanted the 700 style bolt handle and I said no.

    I have seen some of the Tempest actions where the owner wanted the 700 style bolt and tac knob installed. If you look at Sikes rifles he runs his this way.

    Those are the Seekins .87" Mid's in the photo, I ordered the .82" low's at the same time and just started with the mid's. I was in a rush to get to the range and shoot it being it was a new rifle as well! The low's will work on my particular rifle setup though so I will save them for my Xtreme...

    Mine is Nitrided and was super smooth as soon as I got it. It seems to be getting faster the more its cycled as well.

    I have the TT set at a pound, no issues and zero creep. Kind of spooked me when I shot it the first time it broke so clean.

    I got a call from them Friday saying they would be delivered on Monday (16 Jul) and they would turn them around and start shipping on Tuesday. It would take a week or two to get them all out.

    Manners PRS-1 with the MPA bottom rail Tempest Nitrided 6.5 26" Proof TT w/Flat Shoe Out of the country at the moment so I haven't seen it or weighed it yet.

    I use the Tipton deluxe bore guide and a combination of their carbon fiber cleaning rods depending on the barrel length.

    I would say on paper no there is no benefit. I would assume you are paying for the ability for the adjustment should you want it in the future. I have purchased a few of the specials as I don't see myself going below a 1lb anytime in the near future.

    Never....but mine did not have an excessive amount of packing oil. If you need just pop the two Torx screws pull it out, wipe it with a rag and drop it back in before you ever shoot/zero and you wont have to worry about POI shift from the start. Or you could shoot a lot and burn it off!

    Thats what I meant to say, no POI when changing barrels and coming back to the same cal. definite changes from 338 to 308 but back spot on when either are put back on.

    I have an Xtreme Hunter on order with Gap and opted for the LRHS 4.5-18 they are selling at 50% off, couldn't pass on the price.

    I'd run a dry patch down the barrel if there is that much oil in it and go to shooting, I have about 280rds on my 338 barrel and haven't cleaned it yet..... Have not experienced any POI shift when changing barrels, just make sure you torque it correctly.
