    ISO: Winchester A5 Scope/Mounts

Mann Niedner will cost you a fortune and no one repos them that I know of. But the books don't know Winchester made a version of a A5 sniper rifle for the Marines. They built 500 for the Marines and 900 for the Army and that version is the only one we can actually document in France in late...

    ISO: Winchester A5 Scope/Mounts

There were two different WWI Marine A5 scope mounting systems in WWI. One was just a standard A5 scope on scope bases that WRA made for the M1903. The other was the Mann Niedner conversion of tapered bases that was produced at the Philly Depot. Which one are you trying to find, because both...

M40 scope base project by LRI

I have one of the new made Smears and it is cut for the wider post 64 trigger guard. I put a pre 64 up to it last night and there is definitely a lot of slop. I don't know if you can just bed them in, but I think I would rather have one that actually fits it.

M40 scope base project by LRI

Chad could you make a Metal M70 Trigger guard for the new McMillian release stocks? I'm thinking get one off of Ryan already modified and just make a run of those? With these 50 stocks being released I think a lot of will be looking for them, and it appears these parts are hard to find in metal.

    New McMillan smear stock review!

Is this where you want it measured? Actually this is something I need too. I also need to know where to get the trigger guard hex head screws. Any leads on where to get any of the hardware outside of ebay, would be appreciated.

1903 with scope bases at local shop

That stock is a 1940 SA made C stock. The holes in the right hand of the receiver are for the lyman 48 receiver sight. The rear sight is marked an R for Remington. The AHA is much bigger that I usually see them. In fact, at one time a lot of fake Unertl Snipers were marked AHA., it was...

New McMillan HTG M40A1 smear stocks!!!

I have one of these stocks. Before someone says something because I know Ryan, he had no part in any of it. I called McMillan and got on the email list. I gave them two emails, my personal email and my work email. I only received an email in my personal acct and not my work email. So, I...

1903 with scope bases at local shop

Thank you so much for the kind words. It is very much appreciated. I really like this forum because I'm learning a lot off you guys. I mostly have always stopped at 1966, so I've been reading all your guys posts on the newer rifles and learning a lot of new material. :) When I first started...

New McMillan HTG M40A1 smear stocks!!!

I have to say I'm extremely disappointed to see the negative comments directed towards Ryan on this tread. I have known Ryan for about 10 years now, and there is no one I have ever met in this hobby who is more generous in helping of others by giving away substantial amounts of very valuable...

Marine Team Rifle returns to Camp Perry 96 yrs later

I have suspected for a while a picture of this receiver when it was an Marine International Match rifle existed in Col Cutt's personal Paperwork. I finally found it. Here is the receiver above ( 635960), when it was an Marine International Match Rifle, taken in 1927. The Cutt's...

Here are a couple of examples. These came directly from M1D's that went to Capt Crunch. About everyone is different from the lot.

Proper Lacing Method for M1Garand Leather Cheekrest

I picked up 8 stocks that were taken off M1C and M1D rifles that were sent to Capt Crunch in the 1990's. All had the cheekpads screwed into the stocks and laced up. They were untouched since whoever installed them while they were in service. Everyone had a different way it was laced up and...

Buddy just snagged these... what can you guys tell me about them?

I did double check, the Army and the Marines paid about $42/43 for a standard Model 70 in 1942. They bought some more expensive ones too, but that was the least expensive. So by paying $15 it certainly had to be surplus.

Buddy just snagged these... what can you guys tell me about them?

I've been organizing it and putting everything in order. I have small kids still so that keeps me busy, but I have a decent start on it. So hopefully not too much longer. :)

Buddy just snagged these... what can you guys tell me about them?

I sort of figured he was Army. I really have no doubt that rifle was definitely surplus. It was a couple years old at that point and the Army bought a substantial amount of them. Pretty much everything in this range went to the Govt. Also $15 was cheap for a Model 70 in 1946, it had to...
