    Sr25 most accurate variants

Consistently the models that I’ve sampled like the Light Weight Match, the later ER, and the 16” EC have all been the tightest. ECR’s, however the fit into the production line with the M110, have been a bit more varying. All Knight’s models are capable barrels, even the newer gen ones in...

    Hatch Bipod: Any Reviews? Experiences?

I have a plethora of known-mil spec rails, and the Hatch fits them all nicely. The B&T rail on my Manners stock is largely out of spec, and the Hatch won’t go on it at all. All my bipods require adjustment to fit on it though.

    Hatch Bipod: Any Reviews? Experiences?

Still playing around with mine as I’ve only had it a few months, but it’s got some Ckye-like features that add to what you get if you were toting the big Harris. All while still being lightweight and right there with your normal short bipods. There’s a lot of flex in the legs once they’re...

    GWOT Toters Of The Mk11 & 12 - C’mon In...

I should have specified a bit better, but you’d still have your regular issue 14.5 upper and suppressor and mk262. In recent years, the lines have been really blurred with free float full size rails and especially robbing a Leupold 3-18x from somewhere else to put on top of a 14.5. So the...

    GWOT Toters Of The Mk11 & 12 - C’mon In...

And this goes for our allies who have carried their country’s respective issued precision gas guns as well! For those who carried the 11/12/M110 etc. on operations, and have also spent time hanging around here as the advantages with calibers, higher BC projectiles, and shooting sports like PRS...

    Mk12 Mod 0 vs Mod H performance?

All good. I think a better apple to apple comparison would be a 16” intermediate gas, which is still quite capable in the operating envelope when feeding it 5.56 pressure ammo. Even a rifle gas 16” in a dedicated suppressed system works.

    Mk12 Mod 0 vs Mod H performance?

I think you need to go back to the second half of what I said in regards to what I was responding to...

    Mk12 Mod 0 vs Mod H performance?

Please expand upon this, since the distance on an H/mid length port to muzzle is longer than on a rifle gas 18”...

Who Makes Thermal Fit Stripped Uppers?

Good to know that the Zev’s are tight. I had been wondering about them since they machine the Hodge receivers, and that’s what I have been using. They have been the tightest fit of all.

Gunsmithing A Question For The Hide’s Barrel Material Smiths/Experts

Thank you! So in dumbing this down for me, where would this material rank in barrel material (especially in a hammer forged state) compared to other known materials we commonly see turned out from smiths? Say...416 on one end of the spectrum and ModBB and LW50 at the other?

Gunsmithing A Question For The Hide’s Barrel Material Smiths/Experts

Very helpful explanation, thank you. I also finally had some time to have a conversation with Daniel Defense to see what they could offer up. To be fair, when I was using the hammer forged 416 statement above, that was merely an example. DD’s website never specified. Well, the rep I spoke to...

Gunsmithing A Question For The Hide’s Barrel Material Smiths/Experts

So, in your opinion, would a hammer forged 416 barrel (ar15 barrel) resist throat wear and gas port erosion more than a premium button-rifled 416 barrel from WOA or CLE?

Black Hills MK262 Mod1 Accuracy Evaluation

Molon, Do you recall the speeds you saw out of that 20”? Thanks. Edit - never mind. I found it over on m4c.

Gunsmithing A Question For The Hide’s Barrel Material Smiths/Experts

This is where I was looking to go with this thread. My question originally arose with gas guns in mind, even though hammer forged precision barrels are common in Europe (although not stainless that I’m aware of). My experience with using hammer forged barrels in precision applications began a...

Gunsmithing A Question For The Hide’s Barrel Material Smiths/Experts

A question for our industry pro’s and smiths: what are your thoughts the hammer forged stainless barrel that Daniel Defense produces? Does hammer forging 416 stainless offer any benefits, particularly in the accuracy and durability departments? I ask out of curiosity of the processes. Does...
