LMT 308.... is it the best 308?

I disagree. I used some 08/09 m118lr I had sitting around, along with some ab39, and both were easy MOA with several groups below that. A friend had another 16” CL that I spent some time on, with similar results. There’s my sample size of two. Edit - meant to quote Diverdon.

    GWOT Toters Of The Mk11 & 12 - C’mon In...

I agree, it can be. But actually the point of discussion is quite simple if we stick to the basics...being that if we were to go back in time to our deployments, we’d have 2-3 5.56 uppers (one of which doesn’t really count in here) so 14.5 and 18”. Then we had a 20” 7.62. Laments and market...

    GWOT Toters Of The Mk11 & 12 - C’mon In...

OP puts context to them, but in as few words as possible: having had to carry longer and heavier platforms - because that’s what was had at the time - and knowing that you made do with the length and weight, would you stick with those weight and length ranges again to take advantage of better...

    GWOT Toters Of The Mk11 & 12 - C’mon In...

Sure. More common for 100m zero confirmation though, as that was more critical to some. Certain types of outings facilitated this nicely. Scopes/rifles taking hard hits for whatever reason led to a certain paranoia for always ensuring something hadn’t moved and the known starting point is...

    AR10 Optic Ring Height

If you’re going to be having clip-one for the front, then everything will naturally center around 1.4-1.5”. I have a set of Badger 1.375” (m2010) mounting a Premier 3-15x on one sr25. Lets me use a regular stock on the rear without being too high, while retaining decent alignment for clip-on stuff.

    Knights armament commercial guns

You nailed it. Furthermore, they denote all the reject parts and guns with an ‘X’ in the beginning of the part numbers, same way Lake City does for their ammo, like XM855. All major gov’t contractors do this. That way the gov’t knows it’s getting the best.

Match Quality 300blk Brass - Make It or Buy It?

Okay, I must admit I’m not well versed in the Dillon stuff... I did not realize that the trim die is also doing the sizing during the trim operation. Just finished reading on that. Before I was thinking the trim die was simply aligning the brass for a good, square cut... That said, would you...

Match Quality 300blk Brass - Make It or Buy It?

No, I got that. I was just curious if there was a performance variable or something. Whenever your sharing reloading knowledge and variables, I’m listening... just the way I read it I guess.

When I was confirming you didn’t do any annealing during the initial processing, you replied with:

Match Quality 300blk Brass - Make It or Buy It?

Forgive me if I’ve missed something, but what is the difference annealing makes as it applies to trimming? This is particularly important to me as I likely won’t be doing any rough cutting with the high end tools at the beginning. Edit -autocorrect

Match Quality 300blk Brass - Make It or Buy It?

Interesting. So you don’t do any annealing during the initial conversion? Also, I keep seeing the Sheridan gauge. Is there any difference or advantage of that one over a Wilson gauge? That’s what I already have and just bought it because I have their gauges in other calibers.

I think it also needs to be said there is a large spectrum of what one could be overmatching for... in the exact scenario above: are you on overwatch for IED emplacers? Suicide bomber? VBIED? Or are you preparing for human wave attacks? Without getting into half a dozen different...
