the VTR seems to catch a lot of flack compared to remington's other heavy-barrel offerings, but people who know what they're doing get some really good results from them.
go talk to a lawyer. Now, not when the fine is due. A lawyer will tell you if he can get you some actual relief. We on the internet forum can just spout some opinions, but offer no real relief (other than the advice to consult an attorney).
advantages of hawg hunter are: 1. heavy contour barrel, 2. threaded barrel, 3. accutrigger. so I'd say yes, but its your decision to make. I also prefer the 20" barrel of the HH to the 22" of the stevens.
Yep, agree with this. Opinions vary, of course, but I think this is the lowest cost platform out there that will have some longevity for you. You will have a good barreled action, a good optic, and a good stock.
will be accurate, light to carry, and will kick your teeth out, especially the 7 mag version. I'm with 45.308, go with the 7-08 or even 243. You will spend a lot more time shooting a lighter-kicking rifle.
flip a coin. neither one will shoot better out of the box. let me put that differently ... you could get a lemon with either one. but factory remington heavy barrels typically shoot pretty well.
if you are dead set on getting a brake (not a bad idea with a .300 mag), get the pre-threaded...
crossbows have ALWAYS had a stigma, which I find somewhat amusing. they're still a far cry from using a centerfire rifle, or even a muzzleloader. I don't care much for hunting with them because the dang things are bulky, and really seem pretty boring to me. I'd just assume take a nice short...
The knights are wonderful muzzleloaders, very accurate and well made. The T/C will shoot almost as good, or "good enough", and be simpler to operate and easier to clean. T/C omega or triumph is my recommendation. Been there, done that.
this dude is 8 ... the Remington 700 youth in .243 is the right suggestion. As he gets bigger, you can swap the stock out to a full size McM. I think the .22 LR suggestion is good (better?) too.
