Pretty sure its been 9 years since I went deer hunting and I got the urge to get out there this year. This guy came in just before dark chasing two doe about 200yds away. Took him with my Savage 12 Palma and the Berger 168 Hybrid. Not the biggest out there, but the biggest I've taken to date...
Re: Any Boolit Casters?
The Cast Boolits forum is a great place to find lead. I also found a local guy who was selling ingots he'd cast from wheel weights. Also try your local scrap yard if they'll sell it to ya
Re: Any Boolit Casters?
Thats my plan if the HBN doesn't work. But I cant find anything about anyone trying it, and I know people use Moly on cast bullets. I just dont think the lube groove is that efficient. Why not coat the entire bearing surface with HBN than a groove with antiquated lube/wax?
Re: Any Boolit Casters?
I have a theory. What If I cast a bullet with no lube grove and coat in HBN. Seems much more efficient to me. Works for the rifle guys and cuts out the mess of all that wax lube.
Re: Any Boolit Casters?
I completely agree. There's no way I'd do this for other than myself. Too much trouble. Casting is the easy part. Its lubing the dang things that's getting me frustrated. My first try at pan lubing sucked. Thinking about a lube-sizer right about now haha
I just cast my first bullets for my Glock 22 (Bar-sto barrel) with a custom .402 mold from Accurate Molds!
.640" and coming in at 195gr using an alloy that should be close to Lyman #2. Now time for some load development using 4.3-4.4gr N340 for USPSA Limited.
Re: Best 9mm personal defense ammo
+1 for Corbon. The solid copper projectiles have a real advantage when encountering hard targets like bone

Re: Glock 19 stippling
Very.... grippy! It's hard to improve over the RTF2, but I think this definitely is. The biggest difference are the small reductions I did. My grip seems much higher and its much easier to track and keep the sights lined up. Thanks for the inspiration lol

Genin, you've inspired me to try my hand at it. Not as good as yours but I'm liking it so far...
Re: Gunsmith Needed M1 Carbine
Richard,
It is indeed not an original handguard. The stock, handguard and barrel are all new from Fulton armory. It is one they restored. I appreciate the contact, as I'm probably going to replace it. Thanks,

So I have an Inland Carbine that has been restored by Fulton Armory. I got it from a fellow who had never fired it. Well after 3-4rds the handguard pops right off. I've tried shaping the riveted metal tongue with a file, w/out removing length, to fit better but it has been to no avail. There...
