Dope shooting uphill - tell me why I'm wrong

Our line of sight is our reference frame. The bullet doesn't really care where it is going, once it leaves the muzzle the forces acting on it are drag and gravity. We just have to figure out how these forces work in relation to our line of sight so that we can correct for it. Hope that helps...

Dope shooting uphill - tell me why I'm wrong

The acceleration due to gravity is a vector. When shooting uphill or downhill you have a component of that vector that is now parallel to your line of sight. The "less horizontal distance" isn't technically correct, but it serves to illustrate the point.

    Genesis Ballistics Solutions--Android Now Available!!

I'm looking forward to the "how to" material. So far I've been a bit confused, coming from Applied Ballistics, where you first set up your rifle information and then input different ammunition details. With genesis it seems you create 1 track for each rifle/ammo combo. I'm a bit confused as to...

Anyone ever see this; big differences between JBM and FFS?

My understanding is that FFS isn't a straight up point mass solver and uses some different methods that I haven't read up on. JBM is a point mass solver, so it just references a G1 (or whichever you select) drag curve and scales it by your BC. From Mach 0.7-1.3 these drag curves change...

Help! Trouble shooting with my kiddos 🥴

If they're left eye dominant just get them started shooting long guns from their left. Learning curve is a little steeper, but will be better in the long run. Starting off it will all feel awkward anyways. Shoot handguns right handed while left eye dominant is no issue.
