Night Vision Recomend a thermal unit for longer ranges

thermal hand held to detect and nv to ID then shoot if he's going to be at those ranges. Thermal handheld is ~3k, NV(CNVD-LR or PVS-27, PVS-22) ~10-12k. There may be another NV option that would work but it would have to be a dedicated NV rifle. There are others here who detail the ins and...

Night Vision Recomend a thermal unit for longer ranges

Using a coyote as a reference, I think you would be hard pressed to make hits at 600 in the 5-6" window necessary. The other aspect to it is does he have the time to maintain a vigilant watch? I do predator control on a DNR nuisance permit at a turkey farm using a 640 core unit and it's not...

Night Vision Princeton tec mpls switch

Just to add to this excellent record for the next person who finds it, princton tec has redesigned the picatinny rail mount and the ARC mount. These mounts no longer have the ability to rotate the body. The body when mounted is in a fixed position and light direction can only be changed using...

    Rifle Scopes Leupold vs. Nightforce

the closest comparison would be to the Leupold Mk4 LR/T 4.5-14x50 second focal plane. If it were me I would go with the ER/T 4.5-14x50 first focal plane with M5(MIL) turrets & TMR I've got them both and prefer the FFP reticle but there is nothing wrong with the SFP especially if that's what...

Rifle Scopes Quality lower end optic for Dad's air rifle - I have no clue

Hawke Optics are very popular with the air gun crowd and their varmint side focus line is fairly inexpensive for side focus scope. That particular line has what they call half mil dot reticle which is true at 10x. You can also use their free chair gun pro tool for ballistics which is sort of...

    Bi-pod question

you want HBRM or HBRM-S with the S being the one that swivels. I recommend a KMW pod loc if you go with the S as this makes the tension adjustment very easy one handed.

    ARD compatible Binoculars?

I've done a fair amount of searching and can't find any ARD compatible binoculars other than the Steiner Marine and Military R series. In a perfect world I would like something like the Vortex Viper R/T 8x28 with ARD's but will take a look at anything anyone recommends. Thanks,

Shooting and spotting tripod options, which would you prefer and why?

I've got 2 190cxpro3's(q90) with RC2 heads. One I use with either the HOG or the LaRue qd connector and the other to hold the spotter. The LaRue qd for rifles that have a bottom rail that extends to the lower receiver and the hog for rifles without the rail. I just like the ease of attachment...
