    Rifle Scopes TPAL and Focusing

Re: TPAL and Focusing The reason for parallax and the blurry image ist the same, not having the target image focused in the same plane as the reticle, and side parallax adjustment or adjustable objective allow to adjust exactly for that. So I don't see any reason not to call it a "focus knob".

Rifle Scopes Tunneling on 5-25 SB

Re: Tunneling on 5-25 SB Your image shows a FOV of ~55 mrad as far as I can tell. Published specs are subject to slight variations, and if the specs they are publishing are a little conservative in this respect, good on them. The last time we went "round and round" on this, you posted the...

Rifle Scopes Tunneling on 5-25 SB

Re: Tunneling on 5-25 SB FOV simulation on 5x, no tunneling on the left (76 mrad FOV), tunneling on the right (53 mrad FOV). It's up to the individual whether this is a "non issue". If you don't dial below 7-8x, it certainly is, since you are not using the affected magnification range. If you...

Re: Low Light Scope reccomendations... There's always variation in nature. This is the only data I've found on age and corresponding eye pupil size so far: Yes, pupil size declines with age on average, but you may find a 70 year old with a maximum pupil size bigger than some 7 year old...

Rifle Scopes Premier LT 3-15x50mm illumination question

Re: Premier LT 3-15x50mm illumination question You'll hardly find illumination that can be dimmed further than on the Premier scopes. The lowest setting is actually a little low in almost complete darkness, and it works well with gen 3 nightvision without causing the NV to step down the...

    Rifle Scopes Hensoldt and S&B

Re: Hensoldt and S&B 5-25x56 FOV simulation on 5x without tunneling and with tunneling. FOV is 76 mrad on the left and 53 mrad on the right. There is a 2x difference between the areas covered by the FOV. It's up to the individual user what to make of this of course.

Rifle Scopes Henny 4x16 question...me or it?

Re: Henny 4x16 question...me or it? It's an optical aberration called distortion you are seeing. In variable scopes, it will be most apparent on the lowest power setting and causes what you call "fishbowling" effect when moving the eye inside the exit pupil and also "bending" of the reticle...

Rifle Scopes Scope Tracking Target :MIL based

Re: Scope Tracking Target :MIL based I've always wondered why people use these huge clumsy targets for tracking tests. Why not just dial in the desired elevation/windage and aim with the corresponding part of the reticle? It's especially easy with the Gen2 reticles since there are marks every...
