    Please Help Me

There are negatives to not enough magnification. There is nothing but positives to having more magnification. Keep it under 25x. That Bushnell 21x DMR is about right. People have been talking about that damn deal all week, if that means anything.

One small dog low, and I mean a really small dog not your golden retriever. Fuck, you sound just like my dad. "Turn left at the horse, right at the antelope. At the entrance there will be a small blue oil can." That blue oil can was there for over a decade.

I've hunted with FFP and SFP scopes, in WY. Twice I had issues with the FFP scope trying to find the crosshairs in timber and snow falling. I killed one of those elk. SFP is superior for hunting and that's about all it's good for. I still use 2 SFPs for ELR and for hunting. I never do any math...

    Please Help Me

You would be really surprised the difference in what you can do with a 14x scope vs a 20x scope. I have no experience with any listed here but I recommend at least an 18x scope or higher. Don't short yourself on this just to later regret not getting more magnification.

    Anyone regret lasik?

Thanks for this thread. I'm 35 and about to go to an eye doctor for the first time since I was a small child. I've had perfect vision my entire life until 2 years ago or so. My right eye started going and I've had trouble seeing at distance and reading signs. Doing load work the other day in...

    "Friends" wanting to buy ammo

We give ammo and gear away all the time between a select few of us. 20rd box of tracers here, a magazine of subsonics there, box of buckshot. We also do furniture for an ARs and other random cheaper items. It's always a surprise and never planned. Sometimes we ask to borrow bullets or other...

Help: Berger bullet seating depth, distance to lands???

I used to use the Hornady OAL method. It is pretty accurate, we were within 5-10 thous, but it definitely can have user error. If you buy a tap you can make your own modified case instead of spending $10 on one. Do the Hornady Method a few times, now you know where to start the Wheeler test at...

Help: Berger bullet seating depth, distance to lands???

The only method that is truly accurate is the Wheeler method. You are removing the ejector/plunger when doing this right? If done in a clean rifle it is an exact measurement, as in 100% precise. This is the only accurate way to measure a chamber for ideal seating depth. All other methods are...

Rifle Scopes Diopter on SFP Scope and its effect on downrange focus?

I don't know anything about Steiner scopes but if I experienced that I would not trust it. Once my trust is lost in something it has to go. That's my advice.

    Odd ball hobbies

I try to do a new hobby once every year or two. Most never last long but I usually get pretty good at them. Lock picking, fur trapping, mushroom hunting, fishing for every species, excessive drinking then welding steel targets with buzzboxes. Just normal stuff. The one that I still do a lot is...

    MOA vs Mil

This is WAY off. My dad spots for me a lot and he uses terms such as... "I think it was 2 and 2/3s feet right", "one yard left", "six inches high and maybe loaf of bread right", and the classic "didn't see, shoot again". Anybody want to come spot for me???

Not a reload... but needs some expertise

A great reason to always strive for 100% case fill when selecting powder. Consistent and safe. The people who taught me reloading left out all of the important parts and taught me a bunch of junk that I had to forget.

10 Tips for shooting in the winter

When there is a lot of snow out and most roads are closed we go the places they keep plowed open for logging operations. I will lay right in the middle of the dry dirt road to shoot the 1776 yard rock. The best spots are beyond the sign that says closed for the winter, the only people back there...
