Re: To clean or not to clean As someone who loves to be lazy, I find the fouling method works perfectly. The less of my time, attention and effort required, the better. Just enjoy it and put it away dirty. This method may apply to more than just rifles.

Rifle Scopes Recommended magnification for up to 600 yards

Re: Recommended magnification for up to 600 yards I like as much mag. as mirage will allow for after I have located the target on a lower setting. At 600yd I'm usually at 15x. 10x will usually get the job done depending on target size but I feel I am more accurate on a higher mag. I only...

Have fun in Tijuana 4 more decapitated bodies

Re: Have fun in Tijuana 4 more decapitated bodies Went to TJ about a year ago late on a Saturday night with a group for a bachelor party (bad idea). Almost didn't make it back since we were surrounded by a large group of gang members at a club who wanted to kill us for money. Lucky for us a...

Advanced Marksmanship Advanced, not a chance

Re: Advanced, not a chance Everyone starts at some point. I couldn't hit a sheet of paper at that distance the first time using a bi-pod. Some , ok a lot, of practice and I got a 5 shot group of 2.5 inches at 500 meters. I almost never shoot for groups but curiousity does overcome me sometimes.

Rifle Scopes best flip-up lens covers

Re: best flip-up lens covers Sometimes the pin at the hinge of my USO flip-ups start to work their way out. It's something I have to keep an eye on. I can't see them opening by accident. Does anyone know if the bikini cover variety would be avialable for a S&B 5-25x56?

Advanced Marksmanship Watching bullet impact after your shot

Re: Watching bullet impact after your shot It doesn't happen often enough for me yet, but when I see the round explode on the steel it is SWEET! I see it happening more with practice but it does seem to take a lot of trial and error with small changes to body position, pressure on the rifle...

    Rifle Scopes Applying Reticle-Rangefinding?

Re: Applying Reticle-Rangefinding? I am not LEO or military but I do practice milling exclusively since I don't have a LRF and only shoot at steel. I use a gps to mark my FFP and then measure distance at the target before moving it after I'm done firing at that range. This lets me see how...

    Rifle Scopes Anti-Cant Bubble Level

Re: Anti-Cant Bubble Level I like my folding USO on the base. The design had me skeptical at first because its reading will change as you tighten the screw after folding it out to use. Just need to be sure the screw is secure as John from USO stated. It lets me make hits out to 1000 yards on...

Rifle Scopes Hensholdt who uses them??????

Re: Hensholdt who uses them?????? There was a scope comparison be Hide members in the Houston area 7/09 and I saw some people noting the difficulty in avoiding shadowing in the sight picture on the Hensholdts despite it being easy to acquire. Has this been your experiance with them? It seems...

Rifle Scopes red dot sight mounted @ 90 deg?

Re: red dot sight mounted @ 90 deg? I don't see how you would be able to get a cheek weld and see through the scope at the same time if you did this. The nice thing about Aimpoints is you don't have to have your eye lined up perfectly with the scope or front sight like a high magnification...

Re: S.H.O.T. show 2010 I didn't care for that ceracoat either. It may have just been my monitor but it looked like it was already worn off the top edges of the elevation turret in a few spots.

Rifle Scopes Night Force NSX vs Vortex Razor

Re: Night Force NSX vs Vortex Razor My USO is certainly a wonderful scope. Tracks perfect, glass looks great, lets me shoot .308 to 1000 yards without problem. But 2 things that have me changing are: 1) I have the ERGO and don't care to reach up front to adjust it, but in all honesty it...

Rifle Scopes SS 20X......too much for 300yds?

Re: SS 20X......too much for 300yds? I agree it would be good at the range for stationary targets but not very practical for hunting or shooting at movers if your range has that. FOV would be too narrow.

Advanced Marksmanship What is the best zero

Re: What is the best zero I zero the elevation on my .308 at 100 meters and the windage at 50 meters. Any small amount of wind should not be a factor at 50 meters for left and right drift. The direction of the wind can have a small effect on elevation, but at 100 meters, it would be a...

    Rifle Scopes S&B Reticle

Re: S&B Reticle Has anyone ever asked S&B to light all the mil markings on a P4F like on the Vortex Razor. I am considering a S&B but wish more than just the center cross was lit since I would only be using it on steel targets.
