    Ultralight 6.5 muzzle brake

I have both the 5 port Piercision and the APA Gen 3. For a 6.5 SAUM hunting rifle I would probably choose the 5 port Piercision. I felt that the Piercision reduced a little more recoil than the APA Gen 3. I have the Gen 3 on my PRS rifle however because it produces a more neutral sight...

    Hearing Protection

I wear a pair of Lazer Lite foam ear plugs under my electronic muffs. Depending on the stage I may shoot with just the ear plugs and the muffs off. What I found was that I was actually exposed to more noise while others were shooting than from my own rifle. I believe this is due to the angled...

    APA Gen 3 Little Bastard

I just got one last week. The top ports definitely have an effect. I need to do some more testing before I really form an opinion. I was able to achieve better target retention in the scope vs. my previous brake when shooting off baricades. Recoil reduction was excellent and there is not a...

Which Magnet? - stainless pin tumbling?

I am using chips not pins but I get 99.9% of the chips out by spinning in the media separator. I then rinse and toss the brass in a towel and work it back and forth to help dry. There are usually a few chips on the towel when I am done.

What equipment be deemed important to facilitate significantly improving the quality of my reloads.

As others have mentioned, the Hornady comparator sets need to be a priority. I would also recommend a mandrel and die body from 21 Century Reloading.

Which Magnet? - stainless pin tumbling?

I just spin the mix in a media separator just like you would if you were using dry media. No magnets required.

    Shooting through chrono question.

IME it is less about rate of fire than it is about the dwell time of the case in the chamber. Once the barrel gets hot I have found that rounds that dwell in the chamber longer tend to be 5-10 fps faster in my rifle. If I am testing for velocity consistency, I try to fire at a smooth, even...

    Accurate Mag Scratching Brass

I would not try to sand feedlips with a dremel. Too easy to slip and cause an issue. I break the edge with a fine file and then use wet/dry sandpaper to 600 or 800 grit. I have tried the Magpul mags. I had to do a fair bit of file work and add some material to the rear to get them to feed...

    Forearm Rail System

From what I have seen there are a limited number of situations where these systems are truly applicable. I rarely see these at matches and when I do it is usually less experienced shooters using them. The top guys that I have seen and shot using just a Game Changer or similar type bag with the...

Suppressors Griffin taper mount - any problems?

I believe mine extends the length nearly the full length of the can. I am running the minimalist brake so there is about 1" of brake that goes inside the can.

    Precision Underground rear bags?

@Precision Underground When do you expect to have the bulk fill available for sale? Would like to try filling a fortune cookie with this fill.

    Suppressors little paperwork hiccup....

I believe the paperwork has to go through your dealer in this case. Mine came to me because I was doing a Form 1.

    Suppressors little paperwork hiccup....

I have also received correction letters from the ATF. Mine were on Form 1's. Both arrived at my house 5-7 days after the date shown on the letter. You need to go have another conversation with your dealer. If the letter was sent on 8/5 then I would expect your dealer has received it. Also...

PRS Talk Is the ATACR worth the extra money compared to the Vortex Gen 2 for strictly PRS style matches?

I have both scopes in question. If money is no object then I would recommend the Nightforce ATACR 7x35. If there are budget constraints then a used Razor Gen 2 will get the job done.

Removing binder plate from AICS magazine?

I did the same thing. I only did one and then decided it was easier to get another mag. The result was a loose follower fit that I don't care for as it seems to let more dirt in. Had an issue with this mag at a match due to FOD in the mag. Now I just use it as a backup.

    PRS Talk Magazine for PRS

I have AI mags and an MDT 12 rounder that I have been trying. I run the MDT mag most of the time and have not had any issues. I will likely buy another. I did do some tuning on the MDT mag but I had to tune the AI mags as well to get them to run well in my rifle.

    New Atlas Bippd tension wrench.

@Michael Victor Is the gold option in the picture above new? I totally would have gone for the gold option.

    Rounds binding in mags.

You are likely going to have to tune whatever mag you get. I sand/polish the feedlips and the start working to set the feed lip spacing. I have to open up the front of mine a little more than the back to get mine to feed smooth. I use the MPA tool for the bending. I have both AICS and and...

    PRS Talk Average match fee

$40-60 for a one day match. The two day match I just shot was $275. I had the opportunity to see some of what it took to put that event together. Given the time, energy and expense that I believe went into making that event happen I have no issue with the price tag.
