Rifle Scopes Astigmatism Test: Check Your Eyes in this Thread (Tips, Charts, etc...)

    * Read trick below, above the pictures for using your iron sights to confirm the results of this test Astigmatisms not only effect your ability to see reflex and holographic sights, but traditional riflescopes as well. For those who are not familiar with them, an astigmatism (simply put) is an...

Rifle Scopes Is the new bushnell tactical worth the money

I believe the new 3.5-21 is part of the ERS (extended range scope) line and the new 4.5-30 is XRS (extreme range scope), not the LRS (Long range scope). HDMR implies the (DMR) with the Horus reticle I believe, the original 5 mil rev version.

Rifle Scopes High Mag Fixed/Variable Options Under $1,500

Bump for info. Any experience with the ones listed in post or suggestions would be much appreciated. I know this group of scopes is not the norm here, it's not for me either (new area for me). Even BR discussions elsewhere cover these are few and far in between. Thanks again-

Rifle Scopes Bushnell: 2.5-16x add G2, FFP

Ive mentioned this a few times and have been wondering why Bushnell has not added their 2.5-16x as part of EITHER of their new lines of scopes. Right now I see their Elite Tactical split into the following groups. 1) "old 3200 with new glass" * 5-15x (LRS) * 10x (LRS) 2) "ol 4200 with new...

Rifle Scopes Bushnell Elite Tactical 4.5-30x, 50mm Mildot

. I was interested in the 4.5-30 as well for such a large mag range. I liked the idea of having the lower bottom with great FOV on a higher power scope. After some searching and debate I now own the 2.5-16x elite tactical. It's a great scope for the money with a crisp useful mag range. For the...

Rifle Scopes Why not an MOA-Dot instead of mil-dot?

Honestly, I feel the hashes are much easier to read and break down. I know there are plenty out there that use a traditional mil dot as fast and accurate, but straight lines are faster and more accurate for me. Even a small enhancement to the traditional such as Burris G2 reticle that marks 1/2...

Rifle Scopes High Mag Fixed/Variable Options Under $1,500

^^ Thanks for the bump, here's a few of the scopes I was looking at. I can't seem to find anything else in between this ~$1,000 offering from couple manufacturers to the $2,000 jump. I'm sure there's a significant difference but wonder if there's anything else or it's really necessary spending...

Rifle Scopes Why not an MOA-Dot instead of mil-dot?

sense Here's a good example from Holland above and Vortex below, sorry pictures got jumbled around. The moa dots used for wind hold while hash marks are used for the rest. I guess you could make the traditional dot cross sections from moa but they would represent a larger value than is...

Rifle Scopes Why not an MOA-Dot instead of mil-dot?

There are a good number of MOA reticles... Circle and hash type.

Rifle Scopes High Mag Fixed/Variable Options Under $1,500

I took a look at March's fixed BR models. They look like the 40, 50, and 60x are coming in about $2,100. They are all 52mm and seem to have a plethora of rericles. Thats a bit more than I was planning on spending. Ive read great things about their long erector variable lines. Anyone have...

Rifle Scopes High Mag Fixed/Variable Options Under $1,500

So, Im in the market for a couple new scopes but I wanted to check some other opinions before I make one of my decisions. I would appreciate any suggestions around $1,500 Ive been pretty set on buying a Sightron SIII 10-50x60mm. I already own the 8-32x56mm with the LRMOA-2 reticle (that im...

Rifle Scopes I don't know what i am doing or what to buy

Here's a few ideas, i know these are all over the place... They are all well regarded. i have considered several of these in the past and each are fairly unique. There are some pretty incredible low power variables around the $1,000 mark. When you mentioned 1,500-1,700, it seems that the option...

    Rifle Scopes Eotech clones...

Dont buy it, Seriously. Get a burris fastfire or a bushnell trs-25, or their other new reflex. Also, if you dont mind the size look at vortex and burris' larger reflex sights. They are all quality and range from $75-$225 Stay away from clones, you're better off buying either used or from a...

Rifle Scopes Sightron SIII 8-32x56 questions

Are you getting the target dot or Moa-2 reticle? Also, are you staying with the 8-32 or going to the 10-50? The price is pretty dependent on reticle choice. i think either way I you're going to be very happy with it. Throw some of that extra change toward some great rings/base. I believe I...

Rifle Scopes Sightron SIII 8-32x56 questions

Since purchasing a 8-32x56mm SIII, Every time I see a thread about Sightron I feel compelled to chime in as I don't believe they get the feedback and hype they deserve. Mine has the LRMOA-2 reticle and I'm very happy with it. In my eyes they are a great value, having one of the best combinations...

    Rifle Scopes Bushnell or Vortex?

Id like to elaborate on my previous comments... The turrets on the Bushnell are not bad. When I said inconsistent, I was referring to the feel throughout ghe adjustment range and in between the windage and eleavation. 2X Eg. 1) my windage turrets is sanppier than elevation 2) ie. During a...

    Rifle Scopes Bushnell or Vortex?

I own the 2.5-16 Bushnell Elite; its a nice scope for around $500. I dont think you should have an issue on a 223. They have a lifetime warranty as well. My hesitancy to recommend it: -I'd call it an 'over built' 2.5-x or a less purposeful x-16. I know that may sound odd but some of the...

    Rifle Scopes Opinions on Sightron

I posted this back in August, shortly afterwards ordered the SIII 8-32x56 LRMOA-2. It's a terrific scope, very happy with the reticle and the glass does it justice to the top of its mag range. I've compared it on lower settings next to an Elite Tactical I own and the glass is quite different...

Rifle Scopes Sightron Siii 10-50 or Nightforce BR 8-32

^^^ Hate to be the barer of bad news... But not sure where you got the 120moa figure. The 10-50 is limited by 50 moa, the 8-32 70 and the 6-24 tops out at 100 total. I have not put mine on any beast of a rifle, but it is certainly well built. With that said, if I had something that recoiled...
