Re: Best platform to start with? I sides the benefits to both the 700 and the Tikka platforms. Tikka - Amazing action, trigger, and accuracy out of the box. Perfect choice if youre gonna leave it unmolested for a long time. M700 - Great choice if you want to make it your own and trick it...

Re: detachable mags for 30-06? Its not exactly an AI style but you can do a search for magazines for the BAR in 30-06. I believe they are 20 round mags too

Re: Barometer / Altimeter watch ..... ? Its not a watch but its small and compart like one. Check out the Brunton ADC Pro. IT shows everything you want and even Density Altitude if you want to simplify things.
