FOUND - OLD Rifle from WWI . PICS

Re: FOUND - OLD Rifle from WWI . PICS As far as I can tell, and I'm sure someone else will fill in the blanks, it is a MKIII, made by the London Small Arms Co. in 1911. The disk on the stock should tell us who the rilfe was issued to, regiment wise. This is all I have for now. R.

    338 Lapua help.

Re: 338 Lapua help. The Sako brake does blow, and I think it's only claim to fame is it's high price. I actually run a AR-30 brake on my Sako. Not pretty, but it works way better than the Sako one did. R.

    338 Lapua help.

Re: 338 Lapua help. My TRG-42 is pushing 18 pounds with the optics package, brake, bi-pod, and mono-pod. The 12 pounds Sako lists is just for the bare bones rifle, with no scope. rail, rings, or magazine. R

    oem SAKO TRG-22 .308 Rebarrel

Re: oem SAKO TRG-22 .308 Rebarrel While I think Sako TRG barrels are among the best, so are many of the barrel makers in the US. I would not hessitate to re-barrel with a Kreiger, Hart, etc., etc., etc. You definatly would not loose any performance/accuracy due to the barrel not being a Sako. R.

    Vernier sight question

Re: Vernier sight question It does work for the 45-70. You just make a new board with a new zero. Savy? If you are shooting at 100 yards, and determine an elevation on your sight for 300 yards, that becomes your target point. So, one board covers the distance between 300 and 400, another from...

    Vernier sight question

Re: Vernier sight question It depends on the sight. The way I did it was to figure out your drops at whatever your zero distance is, and print these on a long board, and shoot, at 100 yards, labeling the coresponding points on the sight. That is to say, measure, in inches, and label in yards...

Rifle Scopes Badger 35 MOA base on TRG question...

Hello. I just mounted my Badger 35 MOA base on my TRG, and with the holes lining up, it's about an inch short. Not a huge deal, but it looks a little funny. Is this how they come? Just checking. Thanks. R.

Gunsmithing Cerakote Oven Build, Progress Report/Pics

Re: Cerakote Oven Build, If you are using drywall, make sure it is type X. It is fire retardent, and fire rated drywall. Two layers of that stuff would be more than enough to insulate against the heat. Try to glue it in as the screws will transfer the heat through to the steel, and cause it...

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake for 0.338 Lapua Magnum

Re: Muzzle brake for 0.338 Lapua Magnum There was an article somewhere (can't remember) that tested quite a few brakes, Sako, AR-30, Vias, and a few others. The test rifle was a .338LM, and I think an AR-30. They did have threaded adapters made, to cover the different sizes, and had some kind...
