Camp LeJeune Water Contamination: My Dad Just Got a Determination From the VA

I was stationed there in the early 80s out at Montford Point/Camp Johnson and mainside in 99-01. I've been getting their letters for some time but haven't paid much attention to them. Don't think I was affected but pray for the families that were.

Gunsmithing anyone chambering for the .224 Valkyrie - bolt gun

I'm having Mark Chanlynn build mine. He has set aside a 22 caliber barrel for me. Big Horn Arms is going to come out with a 6.8 bolt face in early spring, so I'll mate it with one of their TL3 actions. Case of Federal 90gr GM ammo arrived yesterday and slowly picking up the pieces for the build.

    Rifle Scopes Dedicated hunting scopes

I also have a preference for scopes with a top end of 15-18X on my hunting rifles. Rarely need that magnification in the field but nice to have when shooting from the bench. I don't typically dial my shots since I typically like to keep them inside the MPBR of the round. Simple duplex or BDC...

    GAP-10 vs Wilson 308

I can't speak to the GAP-10, but currently own a Wilson Combat Recon Tactical in 308 Win and another in 6.5CM. I also have a Recon Tactical in 5.56 and 458 SOCOM. I own a number of Wilson Combat's 1911s, along with a few of their 1911 hybrids like the SpecOps 9 and their new EDC X9. Obviously...

Rifle Scopes Is Scope List a merchant, or a marketplace

I've bought a couple of Steiner T5Xis from Scopelist and both shipped from Europtic. One was a blem model and the other a refurb. Didn't understand the connection until seeing this thread.

Rifle Scopes any first impressions of the Athlon Ares BTR?

I received my Ares BTR 2.5-15x50 a couple of weeks ago. It has the mil reticle. I currently have it mounted on on a Lithgow LA101 22LR bolt action rifle. Time behind the glass has been only about an hour and limited to an indoor 100 yard rifle range, so not exactly the environmental conditions...

    Lithgow LA101

It fits me well. I'm running medium Vortex rings and cheek weld is perfect. High comb with almost a T6 like feel to the stock. I like that it is more substantial than a typical rimfire stock. Safety is right by the bolt handle which is familiar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Lithgow LA101

Irish, I am developing a growing appreciation for the pricier 22LR ammo from Lapua and Eley, but know what you mean on the price difference between Midas + and Center X. And here I thought mini-mag was expensive. No problem on the prices. From my dealer, the laminate LA101 was $1132.75...

    Lithgow LA101

Trigger on mine was smooth and crisp but heavier than I prefer. Not being adjustable is unfortunate and I'll have to see if Lumley will ship to the US but as a package I'm very pleased with the rifle. I would put it as a solid competitor to the Anschutz 1416/1517 rifles as far as performance...

    Lithgow LA101

Can't recommend them enough. Step up from my CZ455 and more in the Anschutz category. Just tough to find. Fortunately my dealer was willing to order from Legacy and able to come up with a laminate stock. Synthetic stock models were also available at a cheaper price. Uses CZ452 mags. You...

    Lithgow LA101

Irish, Appreciate the recommendation on targets. I was doing the initial sitting in and old eyes need whatever advantage I can get, but at 50 yards it wasn't necessary. Know what you mean by measuring group size.with those targets. I was using a loaner rear bag and the setup was a little...

    Lithgow LA101

Picked up a Australian made Lithgow LA101 in 22LR. Very impressed with the rifle. Quick range report on the Lithgow LA101. After dialing in the scope, shot an assortment of 22LR ammo through it, which included the following: - CCI Mini-Mag - Federal Gold Medal HV Match - Aquila 22 Match -...

    Rifle Scopes Hunting/ Target Scope???

I'm impressed with the VX-6 line of scopes and even more so with the HD version. I always found the VX-6 quality close to the Swarovski Z5 line and the VX-6 HD is pushing very close to the Z6 line to my eyes. Leupold's reticle choices has always been the limiting factor. The TMOA helps with...

Rifle Scopes Steiner T5xi 5-25 vs SS 5-2

I recently picked up a Steiner T5Xi 3-15x50 and have a refurb 5-25x56 coming in. I also have had a couple of SWFA 5-20X scopes and would give the edge to the T5Xi. Clarity and contrast is slightly better. The T5Xi is more inline with my March 3-24x42 than the SWFA scope. Interesting read on...

How to determine the value of an AR... LMT Defender 2000

I typically look at the completed auctions on Gunbroker to see what they have actually sold for. What I'm seeing on the LMT Defender is around the $900-$950 range. Gunwatcher.com is another resource to see what others are selling them for and what they have sold for...

Rifle Scopes Steiner T5Xi refurbish/blemish scopes

I submitted an offer of $1050 but they came back with $1078 if I paid via EBT.
