    ++Bighorn TL3 Builds++

    @gconnoyer If it really bothers you, give them a call. I'd bet that you could just send in the bolt and have them cerakote those pieces. Without the receiver they wouldn't be able to clearance/function check but the TL3 have pretty good clearance and I bet cerakote won't affect anything...

    ++Bighorn TL3 Builds++

    Wow that is crazy cheap and convenient. I do like the color contrast with the standard bolt knob/body, but the blackout looks great too.

    Nice looking rifle! Did you have the bolt body and knob cerakoted to match the DLC receiver?? Looks awesome.

    Gunsmithing Chamber Chamfer for improved feeding with minimal body taper cartridges

    Check with whomever chambered the barrel before you think about doing anything. Like others said, the important thing is to not have too much unsupported case. I had some feeding issues with a 223 chamber; at my request my gunsmith slightly increased the chamfer size (only enough to still...

    Possible to zero with magnetospeed?

    My POI shift with my magnetospeed is still within a 1" dot at 100 yards, so I call it good to go. Removing and reinstalling the magneto for each range trip hasn't had any affect on it's POI shift either.

    Go to Prefits?

    ^^ It's true.

    Manners Mini Chassis vs Bedding

    I'm sure my mini-chassis would have shot great without any skim bedding, and I guess I can't really make an assumption of POI shift of a chassis rifle vs. bedded rifle, since I have never done a direct comparison. Clearly the MCS mini-chassis is well designed. In my case, the only reason I had...

    Manners Mini Chassis vs Bedding

    I think one area where a bedded rifle will have an advantage over a chassis-mounted rifle is POI shift when disassembling/assembling the rifle. Accuracy differences between the two will always be debated and will always be difficult to test/analyze. With a bedded stock, the receiver should sit...

    What is the difference?

    Seems hard to believe that a different lot of ammo could cause the groups to open up from 1/2-3/4" to 2". It does seem like Federal has changed the packaging with the 168 SMKs? The 168 FGMM I used to buy always looked like this box...

    Rifle Scopes Did I damage my scope?

    Yes, follow ARC's instructions and you will be good to go. ARC M10 rings are amazing and I would probably never go back to another type of ring again. The simplicity of having only 2 screws to torque per ring is fantastic for removing and mounting scopes quickly and easily. Plus the design is...

    Rifle Scopes Did I damage my scope?

    @pmclaine one thing I did not go into with my post was the resulting deflection of the scope tube under load/pressure. Depending on the specific material and geometry of the scope tube, minor deflection would occur from the pressure exerted by the rings. My only guess is that when your...

    Brass Tumbling Tip/Trick

    I do the same thing and haven't noticed any residue from the dryer sheets ending up on the casings. I just use plain dryer sheets, no scent or anything weird like that. When I feel the dryer sheets by hand, I don't notice any waxy stuff or residue on them that could end up transferring to the...

    Rifle Scopes Did I damage my scope?

    Lol didn't know I could catch flak here for actually posting something informative and factual. :rolleyes: Sorry for cluttering up this thread guys, I thought some might find it interesting to understand how simple fastener torque applies load to your scope tube through the rings. I will let...

    Rifle Scopes Did I damage my scope?

    Wow hard to believe people having mechanical issues when torquing ring cap screws to 15 in-lbs! Seekins recommends 20 in-lbs for their scope cap screws and I never had any issues with a few different scopes. Now I am using ARC rings that are torqued to 55 in-lbs (but just 1 screw per ring)...

    I Know That Amazon Prime Is From Teh Debbil, But ...

    Such ignorance to assume that something made in China is junk. It's also quite ignorant and uneducated to question that a manufacturer would use a material/component from another country of origin. China has some of the world's most advance manufacturing plants and they are capable of...

    Rifle Scopes Aadmount scope cap first impressions

    I sent a message to Aadmount and Jon replied right away: "Yes [DMR/XRS/ERS caps fit DMR2], I don't think there were any significant dimensional changes between the DMR and DMRII. There were for the XRS and XRSII though. "

    Rifle Scopes Aadmount scope cap first impressions

    Anyone know if the DMR/XRS/ERS set that he sells will fit a DMR2? I don't think there are any real physical differences between the DMR/DMR2 but I noticed he had different caps for the XRS2 and I'm not sure what changed there.

    .223 - 5.56

    With the 77 TMK's you will have to load them longer than AR mag length, I think you are going to want to get some regular 77 SMKs or try the 73 ELD-M's which are designed to be loaded to mag length.

    Pressure Signs?

    Lol, someone bumped it up prior to me... I was more just curious about carbon residue on the necks and if there were any guidelines/rules of thumb/methods as to how far down the neck the residue should go, or if any specific practices can reduce this buildup, or if it is pretty much guaranteed.

    Pressure Signs?

    Isn't the carbon buildup on fired necks just an unavoidable consequence of neck clearance, and that the carbon residue makes its way onto the outside of the necks before the neck expands and "seals" the chamber?
