    210gr berger vld in .308win

Re: 210gr berger vld in .308win With LAPUA brass (sorry no Win brass) I used 42.4 grn varget @ 2510 fps And. 45.2 grn Viht n550 @ 2530fps Both extremely good groups for me, and cut thru the wind beautiful, BUT... Gave up because 1. Expensive bullets 2. Loose primer pockets on 4th reload...

    VLD vs A-MAX ???

Re: VLD vs A-MAX ??? If your hunting, you probably want to use your magazine, And vld's often like to be loaded too long for mags.. Not ALWAYS, but often enough to choose the amax's first and save time/money on vld development only to find you have to single feed them..

    Annealing Lapua Brass?

Re: Annealing Lapua Brass? I use a cheap hand held torch and spin the cases in a drill, (sat in a deep socket) I've found the timing varies greatly depending on where you hold in the flame, so can easily see how everyone's timings can be different, I run about 6 seconds on the blue tip of MY...

.223 Load Data 68g SMK BTHP

Re: .223 Load Data 68g SMK BTHP Have a look in the 'reloading depot' at the top of this forum, Lots of load recipes in there, I found a node about 25.0 gr varget for my freinds AR with the hornady 68bthp, But that was with a 1/8 twist barrel, (loaded to mag length) Using lap brass/cci br4's...

Correct O.A.L. or free bore question

Re: Correct O.A.L. or free bore question VLD's loaded near to/touching the lands, are very often too long to fit in magazines too.. Another deciding factor!!

Correct O.A.L. or free bore question

Re: Correct O.A.L. or free bore question Very Low Drag.. VLD bullets are labelled, such as the Berger 210 VLD as opposed to the Berger 210 BTHP.. Easy to avoid VLD's if you don't want them

    Hornady Lock-N-Load O.A.L. Guage

Re: Hornady Lock-N-Load O.A.L. Guage Getting consistant 'finger pressure' is the tricky bit! To avoid that, I simply insert the rod/case/bullet into the chamber, and instead of pushing the rod forward with finger, Pick the rifle up and tip it muzzle to the floor, let gravity put the bullet...

    Berger Bullet Reloading

Re: Berger Bullet Reloading Not sure about the manual, but if you drop them an email with your bullet choice and calibre, they will email you back start/max load data. They usually reply by the next day!

    Flash Hole Deburring Tool

Re: Flash Hole Deburring Tool I use the K&M flashole tool, it indexes on the bottom inside of the case, so all cuts are uniform depth, it deburrs the flashole and put a little chamfer on the edge. There is a 'sliding cone/ball' on the shaft of the tool that sits against the case mouth that...

Brass shows pressure signs with age?

Re: Brass shows pressure signs with age? Is your chamber clean? Crap in the chamber can cause the pressure signs, and 'grip' the case on extraction enough to feel resistance. Try cleaning/polishing the chamber? Just an alternative thought

Re: Some help on 178gr A-Max load With Lapua brass/cci br2 primers, .0010" off my lands I found my low (and best) node at 42.3grn varget, also at 2590fps Out of my 26" 1/10. For I high node, I found Viht N550 to give me a good velocity boost, 47.2 grn, at 2730fps.. Sub MOA out to 1k, but...

Trying the single stage, bye bye POS classic press

Re: Trying the single stage, bye bye POS classic press Seeing as you are now starting out with your new kit, I think it would be prudent to start also with fresh brass, At least not the brass that you have previously run thru your old sizing Method and had the problems with Good luck!
