    Getting started Reloading questions .308

Redding competition seater dies are the standard for most guys. Bushing dies are for the more experienced but if you can shoot, they are adjustable where most dies are not. the problem with buying pieces right off the bat is you really don't know what is the best for your type of shooting. This...

anyone shooting 221 fireball with a shorter barrel?

I load mine with a 40 grain Sierra hollow point in front of 14.8 grains of 2400. Fed 205m primer. 2800 fps. one hole groups. It is a great prairie dog load to 250 yards or so.

    Getting started Reloading questions .308

This is always a tough choice, kit or pieces. I think people should get a Rockchucker kit as they are the bench standard. That being said, for precision shooters, you will probably want to upgrade some of the items included in the kit, except the press. But it will get you going and you will...

Trying to finish up...what else do I still need?

Judging by your choice of calibers, the creedmoor, and your components, you sound like a precision shooter. You will be able to make better ammo than factory. Cheaper too. You still need a couple of things, but you are well on your way. Brass prep tools are very important to precision reloading...

Puttting powder in other containers, what kind and who sells

Wow, I guess you got it figured out by now, but I'll add my story. I bought a 55 lb drum of Ramshot TAC recently from a friend that is a commercial reloder and sold half of it to some friends that needed some. Sold it in gallon baggies like the dope dealers in town package it. I did label it...

    bolt sticking on a rem 700 308

Try adjusting your sizing die up, sounds like you are sizing too much, causing pressure. What do the primers look like compared to rounds that eject easily? Flatter, I am guessing...

Is there really THAT much difference in ogive??

If the blems were as good as the premiums, they would cost more. Blems are for plinking.

When do you not have ENOUGH bullet seating depth?

I wouldn't worry about COL as much as ogive to lands, unless you are trying to feed from a magazine. If you are, then mag length is probably going to be your limiting factor. You might find that seating depth is important with certain rifles and barrels. If you are using this for targets only...

How to get more shoulder bump... Cam-over already maxed!

I would have the die milled down, say .010 or .020. You can always adjust it up. I wouldn't mill the shellholder unless that is the only caliber that you load for. You will have to adjust all of the dies that use that shellholder now. As others have stated the taller shellholders will not help...

    Advice for newbie

Let's look at these issues one at a time. Is the bolt hard to close? That could be the bullet is seated into the lands. Check this with a sharpie, mark your bullet and chamber, look closely, are there marks from the rifling? If not it is the sizing or the case length. First, make sure your cases...

Hunting & Fishing Do you know anyone like this?

A guy was telling me that he sights in his .22/250 at 300 and that it is "dead nuts" out to 1000 yards. I say wow, you must have a great scope, he says nah, I don't believe in paying for scopes, it is a 4x bushnell.

    .257 Wby Mag Reloading help.

I use a 115 Nosler Partition in Weatherby brass CCI 250 Magnum primer and 68.0 grains of 7828 ssc powder for 3410 fps out of a 25" Douglas bbl. I love the trajectory of this cartridge. I shot a .25/06 for many years and rebarreled to the .257 WM, shooting the same bullet at 300 fps faster.

Hunting & Fishing Opinions on experience w PA game warden (not a good one)

When you go to court, ask the officer if he witnessed you hunting without the required orange. By your own admission, it was dark. I would assume that you were not hunting after dark or you would have been sited for that too. You could have lost your hat on the way back to the truck....
