I find it helpful to have more power available, my SB 5-45 gives me a lot of range to work with.

It's a short rifle, that's one of the major advantages of the SRS. I can see how running all the spacers would probably help with the bulpup bolt operation, but I like to keep the rear short and add barrel inches for velocity. My scope sits quite far forward too, it just works for me. If I ever...

Yes; it is an overtravel stop.

Sure, if you like. I built that to protect the turrets. A lot of people thought it was overkill, but I've always done things that way. Since then I changed optics and went to a Sphur mount. Also added some other features.

I did this when I used a Manfrotto QD plate and ball head. I made an aluminum V block with six screws drilled and tapped thru the plastic into the aluminum chassis, three on each side of the vee. You can do this to mount an ARCA rail too, it is very solid. I now use the RRS rail forearm.

That's what I have seen in the past on mine too, and last week when I checked my 6.5 PRC barrel.

Thanks for your reply and info! I have thought about charting the barrel POI shifts in the past, never got around to it. Now that I have settled on three cartridges and have worked up loads for two of them I figured it's time.

What have you seen for repeatability of return to zero with the same barrel?

Last week I wanted to see how much POI shift I have on barrel changes. For just a short test I fired a 5 rd group removed and replaced my zeroed 6.5 PRC barrel; fired another 5 rd group that had an U.1 m shift. Then I installed my .338 LM barrel, fired a 5 rd group that had a D.2 m / L.4 m shift...

I've been a fan of what I call "coaxial" mounted bipods since my 1918 A1 BAR days. I made this one before Elite came out with theirs. I used an M60 E4 light weight bipod and built the chassis adapter.

    Multi-purpose platform - DTA?

There is no question that the DT is heavier than most hunting rifles. I always find this "light weight" thing a bit subjective, and it always makes me think about my first high power rifle when I was just 14 years old, an M1 Garand at 9.5 lbs. Which how many soldiers carried all across Europe...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Magnetospeed on a pistol?

I'm sure your getting good data from the Magnetospeed as long as the ES and consistency is good. Try the factory ammo you like or have to confirm.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Magnetospeed on a pistol?

Did the Magnetospeed read all of the shots? We're the velocities consistent with each-other, or did you see a large ES? We're the velocities in the range they should be for the ammo are you using?

    Multi-purpose platform - DTA?

My opinion is they work just fine for 5 or 6 round single stack mags. They have more internal length than others (4.00") which I really like the most for my 338 LM with long bullets (3-15/16"). They also were designed to contact the case shoulder rather than the bullet points, another plus. I do...

Very, very nice, great looking weapon!

    Multi-purpose platform - DTA?

I went with the DT A1 when they first came out and never regreted it. It has a S&B 5-45 that was very pricey, but I only need one, and I love it. One weapon system to learn, one scope to buy, an extremely good trigger. Multiple barrels now. Short OAL, weight centered close to your body so off...

    Ruger 10-22 Custom Chassis Build

So far I have found my best to date groups with Lapua CX and SK long range match. Both shoot .125 to .187 groups at 25 yards, and .250 to .375 at 50 yards. I have only tried SKLRM at 100 yards and got a .625 wide x 1.625 high rectangular group, and .750 wide X 4.00 high group at 200 yards (4 rds...

    Ruger 10-22 Custom Chassis Build

Thanks for your kind words, It is a bit heavy for a 22 at 19 lbs complete, but I didn't really try very hard to lighten it up either. If I decide to I can remove weight in quite a few places though. The grip is an M249 part, but could be pretty much anything. It sounds like your Daughter has a...

    Ruger 10-22 Custom Chassis Build

I wanted to be able to do that, however you have to remove the bolt to clean it too and that added a whole new level of complexity. So no, have to remove it from the chassis.
