    All things Steyr SBS-Pro Hunter

Thanks, 357. I don’t have any movement but will take it down to make sure everything is fitting as it should.

    All things Steyr SBS-Pro Hunter

It’s an awesome stock and if you can afford it you should buy it. From experience and also speaking with Steyr’s gunsmith, the SSG action and the THB/SBS actions are identical. I can confirm that the THB action fits both the SSG04 stock and SSG08 chassis (and vice versa). Differences between...

Rifle Scopes New Minox 5x25x56 LR

Yes. It has a ~0.7 mil adjustment under the zero stop too.

Rifle Scopes New Minox 5x25x56 LR

I counted about 28.5 mil. huh. I’m not aware of that. Might have to check later or read the manual. Today was damn bright though with snow reflectance and a clear day. Going back to CA, I had a perfect scenario to evaluate CA and I could barely see anything. In fact I could only identify CA in...

Rifle Scopes New Minox 5x25x56 LR

Me too. Your report on the CA had me worried a bit. I had the knob set all the way at 11. Since you brought up the knob, I’ll note that Minox is disappointing in the illumination detents. Other manufacturers have good positive clicks, whereas Minox is mushy. The feel between on and off positions...

Rifle Scopes New Minox 5x25x56 LR

A small update from my perspective: I had the scope out today for the first time during daylight hours. The image quality blew me away. I’m not aware of any other optic in the sub ~$2000 range with glass this good. I haven’t yet used or looked through TT or ZCO so from my experience the only...

    All things Steyr SBS-Pro Hunter

I pulled the gun apart before torquing the action to the stock at the recommended 7 nm. I was also wondering what the manners mini action looks like in the Steyr stock. Also, manners confirmed that the stock is the PRS-2 modified for Steyr. Manners said that they cannot sell the stock separately...

Call Steyr and you can buy the regular 10rd mags from them.

    All things Steyr SBS-Pro Hunter

I think the point of changing the design is to 1. eliminate the need for the adapter, and 2. allow anyone with an SBS type action to use 10rd capacity magazines and the typical low hunting restricted mags. For someone with the new THB guns, these mags will be very useful. I briefly considered...

Ring height for Bushnell Elite Tactical XRS II 4.5-30X50 scope

This is good advice. I've chased the "get the scope as low as possible" thought process, and regretted not having more height above the bore for shooting comfort. I recently used some 1.1" vortex PMR's on a scope with 56mm bell. Although I could have used shorter rings, the height works well...

    All things Steyr SBS-Pro Hunter

These mags have the provision for single round loading of the SBS/SSG mags. As you can see, the single round loading only has one tab, so with the first position to load single rounds it actually doesn't feel as secure as the two latch style. I don't see this a concern for myself because I...

2021 BigJimFish Review/Article blog: ~$2k scopes with Minox, Sig, and more.

I also have an “x” in the same place on my LR box. Looking forward to your review.

    All things Steyr SBS-Pro Hunter

I picked up a MCS 6.5 thb and a bunch of these new standalone mags. They’re pretty nice and I wish I could use them on my other newer SSG Steyr guns instead of the typical big mag and mag well setup.

Vortex Edge to be released 3/1/2021

I had figured this to be another Chinese red dot. I’m pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

Rifle Scopes New Minox 5x25x56 LR

If you’re interested in the optic then you should consider speaking with Marc at Spartan Precision. Minox’s stuff is very delayed right now. Whatever’s left of what just arrived in the USA, once it’s gone you’ll be in for a long wait...

Rifle Scopes New Minox 5x25x56 LR

I received my LR last week from ^ Spartan Precision. I haven’t had a chance to get out with it yet, but overall I am extremely pleased with the scope. Glass is excellent, reticle is very familiar and thin to be useable at distance, turrets are likely pulled from the same bin as the flagship ZP5...

Thanks for sharing that video. I’ve never seen him before but it was a very well put together review.

Rifle Scopes New Meopta Scope - Optika6

With a bottom of the barrel budget brand like Arken, I can absolutely understand why their optics have a maximum torque spec. For a higher quality optic with likely more informed or experienced buyers, it may not be as necessary to hold the user’s hand throughout the process.
