So what brand chronograph is the hide favorite?

For real. What happens on the target determines load development success, not what velocity readings you get. (Maybe my load development is shit also) I shoot with a muzzle brake, my POI is about a minute higher with the magnetospeed on, but the effect is very consistent/predictable. My...

    Favorite 7 Mag/IMR7828 Loads

It's the apocalypse... In a world where IMR7828 and IMR7828SSC are the only smokeless powders semi-readily available for 7mm Magnum handloaders, what are your go-to recipes for: 7RM/7LRM/7RSAUM/7WSM/7STW and IMR7828/IMR7828SSC and heavier bullets (i.e. 168/175/180SMK, 180/168VLD)...

New brass trashing bullet jackets, any fix?

If you're running them through an 7mm expander mandrel, I would be inclined to just shoot them. That should open them up. What brand of bullet? Maybe try a different brand of bullets.

Jambing a bullet into the lands, using Hornady OAL to find base to Ogive, Help me?

There was recently another post on this sight about a method using a dummy round and closing the bolt without the firing pin assembly. It had a link to a youtube video. You could try that also.

From Bell & Carlson Tactical Medalist to McMillan A5 . . . my stab at stock modification.

Awesome work... I thought I took my B&C medalist through some extreme mods before reading this.

I have a 3 port muscle brake on a 7RM. No more recoil, looks good, very happy with it.

STOLEN RIFLE - 1/19/2014 (Oregon City, Oregon)

Glad you got some closure. Tossed into the Clack and found is pretty amazing... What bastards! I'm curious how the scope held up (or not).

North West Action Works - anyone used them?

They are good dudes. My barreled action took a little longer than expected, but they did a good job and I was happy with the results. I wouldn't hesitate going to them again.

Help me! 7mm Mag vs. .300 Win Mag?

A Remington 5R in 300WM or sendero would be a good start. There are pros and cons to both calibers but they are similar depending on components. In either case run heavy bullets and consider a muzzle brake unless it's strictly for hunting (or you like the ride the lightning). 300WM will cost...

    New Range Ideas

Best of luck. More places to shoot public or private is a good thing for the sport but I don't think profits would come easy.

    Chrony tips / tricks?

I've had a chrony and pro-chrono, both were very finicky with lighting with or without sky screens. Very frustrating to setup and get no (or weird) readings. My best results were at high noon and sending bullets through the same window, dead center and half way up the rods. I have not...

    Work Boots

I'm sold on keen steel toes. They won't last forever but they are light, fairly waterproof and very comfortable. Worth trying them on if you find a pair.

    MagnetoSpeed Chronograph Review

10 months later, still bad ass. You can go to their website and get dimensions to compare the V1 and V2 for your application(s).

Redding Competition Shellholder Sets (for headspace adj. w/o going the bushing die route)

I like them. The main benefit like Hookturnr said is that the die makes full contact with the shellholder every time. This as opposed to adjusting the die to float above the shellholder which may or may not be consistent. Just follow the directions and enjoy long case life by bumping the...

Lube the inside of case necks when resizing?

I put some sizing wax on a nylon brush (drilled and tapped an 8/32 hole, to my recollection, in my rock chucker to hold the brush) and brush out each neck a few times to lube and remove powder residue. If I don't do anything the cases get a little "sticky" during sizing. I think it's less...

Various methods for determining seating depth?

Thanks for posting this. I will have to try to compare this against my current method using the Hornady tool and a self modified case.

    7mm 9.5 twist build for 180 bergers?

28" 8.7 twist bartlein 5R. Better accuracy at 2830fps but have gone up to just under 3100fps during load development.
