    With the barreled action installed (screwed down) using a PTG (or factory) lug there is about 1/8" - 3/16" gap between the bottom of the lug and the chassis.

    10fp, It fits! I have a PTG lug and it is .250". The gap in the frame is .255" wide. It's a nice tight fit. Now I have to grind out a portion for the jewel trigger :(

    I should get mine in the mail tomorrow or Sat (I hope!) and I have a .25" lug. I'll let you know. I'm sure I am going to have to grind down a little for the trigger/safety.

    Leupold RX1000

    They are okay, past 500-600 yds they start getting difficult to get readings off non-reflective objects. I could sometimes get a reading on a car/truck 900-1000yds away, but I sense this is normal of LRF marketing. The TBR is a nice feature, factors in angles.

    Gutentite always works for me. The Remington manual says 55-60 in-lbs front, 40-45 in-lbs middle, 15-20 in-lbs rear.

    I have a NF direct mount on my 7RM and it is great. No messing with rails or rings, this is a one-stop shop. They have 20MOA built in also.

    2" thick Solid Charcoal Regular Foam is what I used, I think it is comparable to what a pelican gun case comes with. The firmer version might be worth checking out also...

    To Lasik, or not to Lasik....

    The thing that drives me nuts is that my right (shooting) eye is 20/20 and my left is 20/10. Smelling your own eyeballs getting vaporized... priceless. Get some references and find a good clinic/surgeon.
