Gunsmithing changing caliber on Savage model 112

Re: changing caliber on Savage model 112 If it really is a Savage 112 (long action) he might also need a different bolt baffle and a different or modified magazine box, in addition to the bolt head (no guarantee if that's the right bolt head for your vintage 112, also might need a new...

Rifle Scopes Mid range-Mid priced optics

Re: Mid range-Mid priced optics I have a VX-R Patrol. I find the reticle to be too thick. Much thicker than the MP-8 in my IOR 2.5-10x42 FFP or the standard mil-dot in various other scopes. Heck, even the reticle in my cheapie BSA Tactical 4-14x44 FFP on my MkII is nicer. I'm going to replace...

Gunsmithing ideal throat length for 284 win / 180 gr Berger?

Re: ideal throat length for 284 win / 180 gr Berger? Which 180gr? The VLD or the Hybrid? The Hybrid needs a lot less throat to keep the bullet shank above the neck/shoulder junction. IMO .220 works for VLD's, .188 works better for the Hybrids.

Re: Best place to buy a Stiller action? The timing has to work out for you, but the best place to buy a Stiller is the annual group buy here. If not, buy direct.

    Fvsr Build
