Looks officially out, the Vortex Impact 4000 WMLRF

Is it the case you have to unmount this thing and re-calibrate it every time you change locations? Vortex says if you move more than 30 miles. And the calibration process looks annoying. Am I missing something? After you do that, you'd have to re-zero all over again, no?

Teach Me About "Tactical" Lever Guns

I mean... it's not hard to bolt a stock and fore-end on. Trigger required some filing, which was no big deal. All said and done, $375 for the stock, $339 for the handguard/rail/sights, $100 for the trigger.

Teach Me About "Tactical" Lever Guns

I didn't have Mad Pig do anything because yes, their prices are silly. I did the work myself. If/when I decide to Cerakote it, it'll go to them though because I like their black multicam pattern. But I don't have any immediate plans for that right now. Photos are in that other thread.

Teach Me About "Tactical" Lever Guns

It's just a range toy and a fun hobby. I have a blast ringing steel at 300 yards with it. LOP and cheekpiece? Yes. Have you ever handled an 1895? They are tiny. Either way, I like it the way I like it. It's not like you bitching and moaning about it is gonna get me to change my opinion lol

Teach Me About "Tactical" Lever Guns

in the case of my Marlin, the Chisel stock gets you more weight (a good thing on a 45-70), the ability to mount a quiver, adjustable cheek piece (both height and cast), ability to adjust LOP, and it looks cool. Muzzle comes threaded from factory. And the new fore-end gives you a better purchase...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Wow... Garmin also has a golf range finder that has image stabilization and gives wind speed/direction. The shooting industry needs to catch up...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Garmin has another product for golf that is very similar in size and functionality to the C1 Chrono. It's the R10. It tracks the following for a player's swing/drive: Total distance Launch angle Angle of attack Apex height Club face angle Club path angle Launch direction Spin axis Deviation...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

150 rounds today. Didn't miss a single one. Love this thing. Just put it somewhere next to the rifle and forget about it until the session is done.

Show's over. You're gonna have to eat that popcorn all by yourself.

Advanced Marksmanship My "Weaponized Math" now called "GRAVITY BALLISTICS". NEW Worksheet Attached.

Yep, I get it. Spoke to @_Windrider_ on the phone and cleared it up with some missing context for this worksheet. I'll be at a range on Thursday that goes out to 1500 yards with plates every 50 yards and will try this worksheet from scratch without the apps

I understand what you're saying Frank. I never claimed my MV was fast. Yes, 2669 is slow. I wish it were faster, but that's what I got with this barrel. So it is what it is. What I don't like is your insults. Lose the attitude. You wouldn't talk this way to me in person if I were taking one of...

Advanced Marksmanship My "Weaponized Math" now called "GRAVITY BALLISTICS". NEW Worksheet Attached.

Right. I said that already. You answered the question—you're releasing an app that will allows you to estimate/project DOPE using this method. But the worksheet isn't meant for that. Got it.

Advanced Marksmanship My "Weaponized Math" now called "GRAVITY BALLISTICS". NEW Worksheet Attached.

My muzzle velocity is the same at 1,000 yards as it is at 100 yards. What are you asking? Do you want to know my muzzle velocity? Or are you asking what my bullet's velocity is at 1,000 yards? It makes no sense to ask what muzzle velocity is at 1,000 yards or muzzle velocity at 700 yards. Or...

Advanced Marksmanship My "Weaponized Math" now called "GRAVITY BALLISTICS". NEW Worksheet Attached.

TRASOL says MV at 1,000 yards for that given DA is 1460 fps and try-dope should be 9.06. The ACTUAL dope I needed to hit my target was 8.8. If I use the worksheet to enter my actual verified DOPE in for each field, it says try-dope for 1,000 yards is 8.9. Very close. Great. So the point is to...

Maybe. Seems to me you're just not willing to explain it and you're getting frustrated.

Advanced Marksmanship My "Weaponized Math" now called "GRAVITY BALLISTICS". NEW Worksheet Attached.

I guess I just don't see the point of this worksheet? You walk your shots onto targets in case you don't have a ballistic app/calc. with you? Battery goes dead or something?

Advanced Marksmanship My "Weaponized Math" now called "GRAVITY BALLISTICS". NEW Worksheet Attached.

I'll try it in real-time this Thursday at a range that has steel out to 1,500 yards, every 50 yards and see if it matches up better. I think you have it backward with the MV? I needed LESS elevation after 800, not more. My rounds are flying FLATTER than my calculator suggests. The number in...

    Help Interpreting DOPE

I think I figured it out. It's probably down to BC. I've been using a G7 BC of 0.312 for years and it's typically worked. This is what Hornady published when they first released the 140gr ELD-M. Their website now lists the BC as 0.326. I'm betting if TRASOL had the ability to input progressive...
