Can't remove Muzzle Brake off of Ruger Gunsite

OK, will try, but putting an open end wrench on it - not ideal for exerting great amounts of torque or impact. Will heat up MB w/ propane torch & smack MG w/ hammer. Don't care if I F'up the MB but do not want to damage the barrel. Can I really crank down the vise on the wooden blocks w/o...

Can't remove Muzzle Brake off of Ruger Gunsite

By shock do you mean hit the wrench w/ a 3 or 5 lbs. hammer? Cannot put impact on it.

Can't remove Muzzle Brake off of Ruger Gunsite

New gun, so do not want to F it up. Maybe a propane torch just on the MB (not barrel) or is that not enough heat? Mapp gas? Would NOT want to put acetylene on it.

Can't remove Muzzle Brake off of Ruger Gunsite

I just purchased a Ruger Gunsite in 450 Bushmaster. I cannot remove the muzzle brake. I had the barrel clamped hard in a vise. Admittedly, it was between two 2x4s but clamped down very hard. Was putting plenty of torque on it w/ an open end wrench. Hard to estimate but would guess every...

    Thread Adaptor for Suppressor

If I get a HUB mount it would be directly from Griffin as they have the HUB and their taper lock. Don't think that all HUB mounts have the taper like griffin does.

    Thread Adaptor for Suppressor

I just got a Ruger Gunsite in 450 Bushmaster which has a 11/16-25 threaded muzzle. All of my suppressors have a 5/8-24 thread. I am thinking about getting a 11/16 to 5/8 adaptor but am concerned about suppressor alignment. An adaptor would cost $25. Alternatively, if I would get a mount that...

20 MOA Base for 450 Bushmaster Subsonic

Agree with what you are saying. Expect shots at 150 to 200 yards. Will go to my PRS range and see how reliably I hit at 300 and 400 yards. Have steel hung that is 12", 10" 8", 6" and 4". That will tell me how effective I am with that rifle & a subsonic cartridge. I am concerned about the...

20 MOA Base for 450 Bushmaster Subsonic

At 300 yards I am calculating 875 FPS & 671 Ft-Lbs of energy. This is for a 395 gr. Sub-X bullet leaving the muzzle at 1050 FPS. Although under the 1000 Ft-Lbs threshhold that many use for deer sized game, think it should be enough for a bullet starting out at .452 and expanding from there...

20 MOA Base for 450 Bushmaster Subsonic

I just purchase a Ruger Gunsite in 450 Bushmaster for hunting deer in OH. Intend to shoot mostly subsonic rounds though it. The scope I will use for it gives me 15 mil up w/ a 0 moa base. This will let me get out to 400 yards. W/ a 20 MOA base I can get out to 500 yards. I don't think that...

    6.5CM - 147 ELD-M & 41.5 H4350 - Too Hot?

Sounds like a plan. I have about 130 rounds still loaded that I will shoot off and will start loading at 40.5 gr. Hodgdon lists max charge for H4350 & 147 gr. bullet as 41.8 and their data indicates 2680 FPS at that load w/ a 24" barrel so I clearly must have more pressure to get 2784. Also...

Reloading 300 Blk in a Progressive Press

I generally load rifle using a single stage press. Most of my rifle is for precision loads (shoot a lot of PRS). W a single stage press I decap, tumble, FL size, tumble to remove lube, check case length, seat primer, drop powder & then seat bullet 300 BLK is not what I would consider a...

    6.5CM - 147 ELD-M & 41.5 H4350 - Too Hot?

I am loading 6.5CM - 147 ELD-M & 41.5 H4350 in Alpha SRP brass. Average velocity is 2784 FPS. Shooting out of a MPA PMRII w/ a ARC Coup De Grace action & a MPA 26" 1:8 barrel. About every tenth shot the bolt lift is tight (nothing too crazy) and I see minor ejector marks. Primer looks OK...

    450 Bushmaster Upper

Thinking about getting a 450 Bushmaster upper. Are the cheap uppers (such as bear creek) OK or should I spend more for something like a RRA. Also, All the uppers I see have a 1:24 twist. Does anyone make a 1:16? Want a upper w/ a free float handguard & capable of shooting at a minute...

Savage 110 Scout vs Ruger American Ranch in 450 Bushmaster

What about the ruger 450 scout? M77 action & walnut stock. Not free floated but should not be flimsy. But, does it shoot? Also, what about an AR-556. Not adverse to an AR for this if it shoots.

Savage 110 Scout vs Ruger American Ranch in 450 Bushmaster

Why the 350 ? I know that the 450 can do more meat damage but if I want to shoot subsonic then I would need the 450. Or, is hunting with subsonic rounds at 200 yds an exercise in futility?

Vortex 2-10 PST vs 1-10 Razor

Awesome comments. Can't wait to get some trigger time with it. At $678 I will not regret it. For me, next step maybe going to a 3-15. But for now, will be good to evaluate what my brush hunting and DMR limitation are with this scope.

Vortex 2-10 PST vs 1-10 Razor

Pulled the trigger on the 2-10 PST. At $678 could not resist. Will at least get me back to a FFP & 10X and if I still need more magnification for hunting or shooting at 600 yards then at least I will know. Excited about checking out this scope when I get it!

Savage 110 Scout vs Ruger American Ranch in 450 Bushmaster

What about the Ruger Gunsite Scout? It is based on the M77 action. How accurate is this rifle? The walnut stock would feel good but not sure if it is free floated.

Vortex 2-10 PST vs 1-10 Razor

Looking for a scope that will occasionally used for hunting, but live mostly on my Sig 716 DMR. Considering a Vortex PST GenII 2-10 FFP, but should I consider the 1-10 Razor? I have both PSTs & Razors (in different magnifications) and no doubt the Razor is superior, but at twice the cost not...
