    The AR15 Picture Thread

Thanks, I was shooting an Appleseed AQT. The handguard was so freaking hot the glove almost wasn't enough.

    Gas Gun Groups Thread

Something a little different, I shot an Appleseed AQT yesterday in the heat but I had to get the optic dialed in for 25 meters since the Vortex is normally zeroed for 100 yards. The below target was shot prone with a sling starting at the bottom right and going clockwise. Bottom right was...

Best way to fix cracked bedding? (Model 70)

I ran into that problem while I was modifying an AR-15 pistol grip. Drilling some small pockets into the plastic gave some space for the epoxy to flow into and bite creating a mechanical lock, resolving the issue.

    Zero distance applicability

I'm just interested in the data of how far people are typically shooting their AR equipped with irons or a red dot. On an individual level that could be determined by shooter confidence, terrain, range or equipment limitations but I'm not interested in that particular information, only the...

    Zero distance applicability

For clarification, I'm not interested in what zero I should use, or what any one uses, I'm not asking for advice on that. I'm only asking, with your iron sight or red dot equipped AR, how far are you, the person reading this, typically shooting on average when you shoot in your backyard, at...

    Zero distance applicability

I could loop 2 gun competition into it but not like high power or QP/PRS/gas gun match shooting since it doesn't really apply to the question. Basically, you, your rifle, and a target, how far are you shooting typically when you're at the range, in the field, whatever. I see you but I'm not...

    Zero distance applicability

For those of you shooting iron sights or red dots on your rifles, regardless of your zeroing scheme, how far are you typically shooting? Are 80% of your shots inside of 150 yards? Shorter distance than that? How often are targets 300 yds and beyond?

I was curious how good the camo looked in the woods so I took couple guns outside today and let them run around.

    10/22 Scope Questions

I'm curious to give this one a shot on the 10/22 that I have set up for Project Appleseed as it checks a lot of boxes for me. Adjustable objective, mildot reticle, decent magnification for the purpose, and not crazy expensive if things don't work out...

    Phone Pic rail mount

I think most of the ones you'll find out there are going to be articulating and made of polymer. This one appears to be at least fixed, albeit made from polymer. https://convergenthunting.com/product/phone-mount-for-picatinny-rail/

Burris https://www.burrisoptics.com/mounting-systems/ar-signature-qd-pepr-mount ADM and Audere have 40 MOA mount options but they aren't cantilevered.

Australian Army Sniper Rifle Trials (1990's Parker Hale replacement) - The AT1-M24

The LOP adjustment on the M24 stock was kinda shit and came loose all the time. Most resigned themselves to taping the locking wheel after getting it in a good position so it was more or less fixed at that point. The M24 stock didn’t have an adjustable comb, we just built it up with sleeping...

Replacing the barrel on my Medium weight 14.5 inch run and gun upper

My anecdotal experience has kinda led me down the same path. When I first putting AR's together with intentions on making them more accurate I didn't even think about bedding, I was running a WOA barrel, in a standard M4 receiver, a good 2-stage trigger, and running a standard FA BCG. Decent...

    6 ARC Longevity

Yeah, total flash in the pan. Have you heard about this 6.5CM cartridge Hornady just came out with? All kidding aside, I think 6ARC is going to be around for the foreseeable future also. I don’t know of another company in the industry that does as good a job as H in pushing new products and...

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake ruins muzzle crown

I don't think it was a bore constriction issue, you'd have to put some serious ooga booga on that sumbitch to constrict the bore diameter enough to start throwing shots on one of those RRA Varmint barrels. This one is a bit of an interesting one but it sounds like it's remedied so no harm no foul.

Gunsmithing Muzzle brake ruins muzzle crown

I'll say it, I'm skeptical. I've seen barrels with a muzzle device that'd have a crown get caked up with carbon, I've seen corrosion too, but I can't say that I've seen, experienced, or heard of a muzzle device causing any kind of gas cutting at the crown in so few rounds. You said that you...
